All the German recon vehicles a have a different FoV.
I did a screenshot post a while back when someone asked this same question.
Sdkfz231 is good and very mobile. That's the 8 wheeler.
The Sdkfz 222 is also good and has the same weapons with 1 less crew. That 's the 4 wheeler with the 20mm autocannon.
The Aufklarer squad can split up and watch more of the map but are less mobile.
So all those armored cars have pretty good vision?
I’m guessing that observation vehicle is better again?
Those units do get a wider field of view.
If you want to use binoculars you need a command unit because they all include an officer who has the real binoculars.
The difference between a recon vehicle and a officer with binoculars is the officer's vision focuses on a point with a small unmasking radius around it. So units in fog can move between the officer and his focal point without being unmasked. The recon vehicle gives you a narrow vision fan to it's max viewing distance so there's no dead space other than what's obstructed by terrain.
Those vehicles have the same FoV as a recon soldier but are far easier for the enemy to spot because they are vehicles.
They are very easily destroyed because they are open topped and have next to no armour.
About all they have going for them is the ability to move around faster than a soldier can.
