only tank that rivals the Is-2 tank in the game is the king tiger or elefant
damm bro a game like this should never depend on luck lol
Whenever I'm in possession of a Tiger Tank the first thing I do with it is drive it into a large shell crater where the main gun barrel is about 2 feet and parallel above the rim of the crater, I let the enemy come to me if I want it to survive, the minute I use it to assault the enemy it's a pile of steaming junk.
As for depending on luck would you really feel like you've been cheated if an 88 mm round hit you in the turret with a defective fuse or the land mine you just stepped on didn't contact the blasting cap and explode? Would you really get upset that you didn't lose your legs because of dumb luck?
Never had any problem with the KV-1 or t-34, can kill both easily with the panzer IV, pak 7,5,
but the same not happen with the tiger i always try to flank to hit on side (where the ammo is storaged btw) and it don't even kill the crew when an 76,2mm or a 85mm hit a tiger on side its is supposed to it blow right after,
The only way that i find "viable" to kill a tiger is to buy a ISU-152 and try to hit it wich is pretty hard since tiger have a 210+ range and ISU-152 have 200, wich come to another conclusion that i find the special soviet really weak if compared to german counterpart.
ISU-152 is very expensive and have really bad limitations.
The panther was even supposed to be a superior tank to the tiger with improved armor and the updated 75mm KwK 42 L/70 cannon, it had a better top speed, better armor, but no one uses it because the tiger is unrealistically inaccurate , by the way, when I shoot at an Panther on side they turn into a beautiful explosion of fire, different from the Tiger.
70% of the game is strategy and 30% is luck. thats just the way it is. I had missions with fairly different outcomes while using exactly the same strategy, thats just the way it is sometimes, deal with it.
That being said, The Tiger and King Tiger actually were the best tanks of the war.
Tiger had a Kill to Loss ratio of about 7:1 , King Tiger had like 10:1
On paper the IS-2 stats are good but its actual performance during ww2 was absolutely lackluster -
powerful gun and powerful armor, thats about it:
Visibility inside the IS-2 was terrible.
In addition to that one shot of the IS-2 created so much smoke inside AND outside of the tank which lasted for a minute easily reducing visibility even more.
Reloading times were easily twice as long as the tiger tanks reloading time and the gun barrel had to be lowered to be loaded.
