perhaps playing on the hardest difficulty is the issue.
Have you considered easy mode?
The devs were too lazy to make any improvements to the AI so you got the exact same braindead AI that this series has had since 2004. So how do you beat this braindead AI that just spams units at you?
You treat it like a tower defense game, The enemy will mindlessly charge your defensive positions without a single care in the world, so just hunker down and kill them.
It is still that system instead of a progression? I hoped they would change to a progressive increase of strength as the campaign goes on. The optimal defense is still 2 tanks a supply truck and a fuel truck then.
The biggest killer form the ai will be towed guns, not tanks. Tanks are usually easy enough to take care of if your tank force is comparitive or if you have at guns. Field guns and at guns will shred both infantry and tanks, not to mention artillery. So getting your own artillery is important, mostly for counter battery purpose and their aoe anti infantry capabilities are secondary. They did add new special call in artillery options as well as airstirkes, you could use these if you have them available. Just look out for the orange marker when a gun fires on the minimap and call it in. I still recomend getting artillery though as they are still going to be your go to for dealing with long range field guns.
Generally focus on researching and getting better tanks, and starting out with one isn't a bad idea either. Save up research points and only get new tanks when you feel your current tanks are becoming obsololete. Also make sure whenever you research new tanks it isnt a side grade. For example, going from the short barrel pz 3 to the short barrel pz 4 isnt such a signifigant upgrade as getting the long barrel pz 4. Teching up, espicially if it puts you ahead of the ai "tech level" causes them to research faster, or so ive experienced so anything you research should actually improve your capabilites, in the pz 4 example i get a much better at platform while still having get durabaility and anti infantry.
You will take loses, you can not only offset your loses but actually grow in resources by scavenging and repairing enemy vehciles and guns and then selling them. You can keep some useful ones like artillery and at guns and therefore not have to research them yourself. You can use scraped enemy tanks, but I wouldn't rely on it for your bulk force.
You could also turn off fog of war. It does help with dealing with towed guns and the ai doesent use fog of war anyway so its only fair.
LMAO 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
