It's also totally not like they don't even have the rights to alter the game and do whatever they want with it.
Purchasing only gives you access to a copy, *not* ownership of the game itself. I'm not sure but I think monetizing mods might be even forbidden, but again, not sure on it.

I don't think it's allowed on Steam, but it's not enforced anywhere else on the web, which sucks
