Finland, conquest

Hi,
I've tried several times to get a good start with Finland but I'm getting beaten. Any wins are pyrrhic, I'm inevitably beaten next battle.
So I'm dropping down from hard, maybe I can learn and eventually succeed.
But has anyone successfully launched a Finnish conquest? There's enticing units to be unlocked and I really want to get there!

Finland you gotta use more AT and arty, infantry tactics they are a really good faction just different from RU and Germans because they lack mainly actual good tanks. Think the only good tank they have is the Cement Stugg on mid war.

I'm starting another one now, I'm going to try full on Infantry aiming for the marksmen.
I think maybe that's their greatest asset.

The heavy engineers are amazing. They can build the 75mm Naval gun which can pen KV1 hulls and their heavy field guns have great range.
Their tanks are terrible though, you have to make an effort to steal as many good enemy tanks as you can. Once they start rolling out T34s its time to snatch as many as you can.

I wish they added an enemy skin for tanks so when you capture a t34 it gets reskinned with your nation's paint scheme.

Is anyone else as Finland having the supply creates and trucks not supplying the mosin rifles or the Avt 40 or svt 38 svt 40

I didn't even think of stealing tanks! Jeez.
The good news is I won a battle with very minimal losses. The key was using the right infantry. Using the marksmen squad they were able to take the AI infantry down with ease. I snuck my recon up then sniped them.
I used the ground mounted anti tank rifle, surprisingly effective, took out 2 Pz IIs!
To complete my attacking force I used the 5cm mortar, it's fast firing and still accurate.
I'm really enjoying this DLC!

I steal Russian tanks so I'm not stuck using the FT-17s that go 7kph. Things are coming up now that I have adopted that strategy instead of using my own.

All Good until first Kv1 Arrives. Bt7 and t26e Did not have a chance. Lost 20 inf throwing Kasapanos and molotov coctails.

Also had flamer burn that but still after all that he just drove and wrecked me :c.

Restarted and now no KV1 but a Su 76 which i took out. Playing on hard.

OK, just found out exactly what you meant. I got wrecked too!
So I was thinking, I've not tried using heavy machine guns. If I tried from the start with MGs and saved the points to get the stug, anything I can fight the KV with.
The anti-tank I had did nothing to the KV.

I haven't tried the panzerfaust either...

Is everyone playing on hard? I'm a bit demoralised, I need more points!
I'm getting up at 4:45 tomorrow so I can get 2 battles in :)

Well Try to get the heavy engineers on Finland. they will let u build bunkers and also naval gun emplacement which is 75mm gun and i took out kv1 while defending. Did not have time to capture it :/

If u need help sometimes we can do Co op on your campaing.

Do the heavy engineers actually have the gun or is it just the emplacement? i did an extremely fast test and didn't see a gun.

itss a emplacement.Also it is 3 stage thing, after u finnish the foundation u see sanbag icon top of it.

Getting those guns i managed to beat the t 34 and kv1. takes so long to get decent tank.

The starting finnish infantry is just bad. They are outclassed by soviet early infantry and lose almost every engagement.

Also eats ammo a lot, Feel like no ammo icons all the time or is it just me?
