The main appeal is the 10 command limit cost.
In mid to late game the limiting issue is command limit cost and not other costs.
the round cost makes it easy to adapt for different missions.
for 20 points you can bring either:
1. Arty
2x 80mm mortars
1x 120 mm mortar
2x 1F ( note 2 of them work very nice in conjuntion with infantry)
Second is its durability. Even if crew is killed it can often be reclaimed. especially now that the AI calls in arty and mortars. The ability to not insta die from such a round is very nice. Dont forget if you sport enemy heavy armor just demount the crew and run them away its to slow to make for fast manouvers
third is actually the 2x MGs. They bring alot of suppression/anti infantry power. Especially in combination with mortars. They are a really nice infantry support tank. Unlike the auto cannon tanks they wont do as much friendly damage.
