Tips for conquest?
I am enjoying conquest but I can't beat the second part where it's my turn to defend. Any tips on what i should research and buy or some strategies? I'm playing Germany

MG42 and pak guns my friend. spread your weak infantry to be on the lookout, even have them disable fire if required.
1st defensive map is most difficult for new players i think (due to low amount of troops, low hitting power and ammo issues). U might want to lookup a mod (or make one urself, super easy) that doubles the manpower u begin with, although they will have more too, it will make the battle easier

you always want to protect both flags, you can do it directly or indirectly, plenty of playstyles work

I'm basically getting overrun by hordes of Russians, some of them have mortars so they were doing the most damage to me because they took out my tanks and I don't know how to deal with them. I will try your strategy with MG42 and pak guns

Researching defense tier one will help a lot as the direction of the sandbags give you a rough idea of where enemies will come from. Have your infantry spread out into strong cover or build foxholes. And for enemy mortars I'd recommend either buying or capturing a mortar for yourself, have a armored car in reserve that will rush out kill it, or have a tiny group of your men with the don't fire command hiding in bushes behind the enemy before the battle starts.

I managed to beat the 2nd defense, but my anti tank gun got blown up but I managed to capture a soviet 76mm gun. So yeah I'm barely hanging on but It's progress. The armored car was useful to kill their mortars and artillery

Research and buy Tanks quick.
Especially for the beginning the German Panzer II with Autocannon is a infantryshredder.
Always buy ammocrates to resupply your Tanks.

After that, Tanks will do all the Work for you

AT, AP miners and field engineers are good also to create killzones with mines and heavier defences for infantry and AT guns.

Enemy mortars are a real pain on defence missions so make sure your men are really well spread out, build sandbags and those other tips on armoured cars and recon units are good to take them out quickly. Enemy mortars have to be a top priority to take out otherwise your MG's and AT guns will quickly get decrewed or worse destroyed.

I tend to hand some units back in reserve and sometimes use them to flank and steal enemy equipment between waves. But yes the enemy now using mortars, MGs and AT guns does make things interesting and more difficult!!

Well you have to buy better Defenses, then you get ready build trenches and some AI machineguns already.... and then you need 1 Spot Defended with anti tank gun ,mortar and mounted mg, and the other Point you defend with Panzer 3f who has the tripple mg,

Infantery dont seems to be able to trow anti tank grenades with any lead on moving targets so as long as you stay in motion you pretty much can kill infantery like you want

And check the height, placing a Machinegun in a deeper space behind a little hill will be useless, it has to be on top of that little hill.
And there tons of little Hills on the Map, you need to manually check if the fire angles are good

The basic Idea is , force them to lay down with machinegun fire, then kill them with Mortars, or drive over them with tank, so they stand up and escape and get moved down by mgs. Russian Conscripts really cant do anything against that

And dig your Soldiers in you have enough time to make 2 man holes before attack starts.

And when you play russians use the Dushkas, they are strong enough to shoot German Trucks long before they dismount and attack

Oh and i forgot, you need Ammo... your normal Ammo will be totally depleted around 60% of Timer, you need at least 1 ammo crate

And btw im looking for People to play Dynamic Campains in Coop.

It becomes to much micro management after like Day 10 and you get hardcore loses cause you cant give 10 orders a Second alone

OK, my guaranteed winning tactics for defence: Do NOT research AI defence.
Field 1 infantry squad. That's it.

The enemy scales its forces in proportion to yours. The bigger your army is, the more the enemy will send against you.

You cannot control your AI defence, it just provokes the enemy.
Scavenge from the enemy when you run out of ammo.
Split your squad into sections. I've just sent 1 Russian Guards squad to defend 3 bases. So I used 3 sections of 3 men.

This is arguably against the spirit of the game. I think that's for the individual to think about. But it does require some degree of skill. I've even defended 3 bases with 1 Kubelwagen. I drove to the base being attacked and that 1 soldier was enough. I think he had to kill 8 enemy, but that was on hard level.

Hope this helps!

Conquest strategy quickly changes in the first handfull of battles.

A few general tips in regards to defence.
Dont use the same setup as for attack if you have the spare units.
I usually swap out almost if not all of my infantry and bring in support stuff.

the 37 mm AA gun is my preferred early game AT and AP weapon. Its range means you can keep it safe and still provide covering fire from ealy to end game.
Usefull tip:
Put regular infantry or tank crew on it to train them fast.

the 20mm scout car is a monster early game. Mobile enough to move where its needed and kill infantry and mortars. Just remember to pull it back when not in active use.

old post but still valid>
The unlock order depends on your play style and what kind of missions and maps you get early on. As certain tech maps give large rewards. And certain maps are horrible for certain build.

But I can share one opening.
Day 1 unlock
Opel blitz (supply) *
7.5cm IG 18
sd.kf 231

Buy
1 opel
1 231
1 7.5cm
1 sicherungs squad.

Over supply the 231 and the 7,5cm with HE ammo
Use ssicherungs squad to spot(turn on no fire mode and hide in bushes)
Use the 231 to snipe

Note farm the first mission a bit. capture the first sone. Wait for the waves of counter attacks. slowly move up clear 2nd cap with 231 or 7,5 and decap it. Equip some of your infantry with at rifles. And capture any MGs or such the AI brought in. Consider grabbing a few svts and smgs for your riflemen aswell.

Day 2 unlock
What you unlock here depends on how many points and resources you get on day 1. But above all else you need to get:

small defences.

If you captured MGs bring them. Think a build that supports your AI defences.
Other options are mortars and the 37 mm flak or 105 if you lucky. Tough due to low credits early on i often dont get the 105 until day 4 or 5 at the earliest.

A few milestones in regards to what you need to get are the
10.5cm
3.7cm Flak
pz4 with a long gun.

Consider prioritizing 37 before 105 depend on your resources.

The 105 is for counter battery which is very important in the new meta. It makes you able to hard counter all towed guns and light tanks. Even many medium tanks up til you face the KV1. Its expensive tough at 770 credits.

the 37cm can do anti tank work early on. And has awsome range for anti infantry work. Later its used for anti air. Its alot cheaper at 285 credits.

The pz4 with a long gun(the later the model the better) is what you are gonna use to kill KV1s.

Not using the 20mm AP on the 231 and the 37mm AP on the flak lets you kill alot of early tanks and gun crews without destroying them.

Leading to alot of captures early on and alot of credits.

Dont bother researching infantry until you atleast have the 105. The sicerungs squads for scouting and the 231 for sniping can do the work.
