is there anyway to fix this?? i mean this is a pretty basic ask andhas been discussed on the forum before. sp should be able to save sp progress
many of us want/would like a *true* SP dynamic campaign but to create an elegant in game campaign might simply not be possible with the tools at their disposal.
we can keep gently reminding the devs we would like this as a future thing but I wouldn't advise holding your breath on a quick fix.
fingers crossed though!
im just wondering why it was do-able to save skirmish and scenarios in mow2 but not cta
although the game may have the same heritage they're similar yet different. like you and your dad.
from what I remember "skirmish" in mowas2 was a different *thing* to CTA.
If it was easy to do the things we want they'd likely already be done. :(
Most of other WW2 RTS/RTT games (e.g., Company of Heroes, Steel Division, Graviteam Tactics, Combat Mission) have this feature (Sudden Strike 4 is an exception, but the skirmish battle in it is very short).
Some RTS players, such as me, are very busy during the day and only have fractured time every day to enjoy the game (for example, I only spend 10 minutes every day to play a game before I go to bed). For a game that requires a lot of micromanagement and careful planning, one skirmish battle can really take a lot of time, so it is impossible for me to enjoy the game without being able to save it.
A suggestion to the dev: You can consider following Graviteam Tactics by implementing an autosave feature when the player leaves an SP skirmish battle, and later the player can only load this unique skirmish savegame to continue. Compared with the traditional skirmish savegame feature with separate savegame files, this should be easier to implement.
