Research tree

Hey,

I have a question in the conquest research tree there are these things called small defence, medium defence and large defence. I think atleast halfway the word defence it goes "...". The question is what do these things do or unlock?

While they need to change it, hover your mouse over it and it will show the full name for you.

These give you more AI men, fortifications, etc for your defense matches in conquest. They increase in the number of these things in chronological order (Small -> Medium -> Large ->)

I had this same question so thank you for the answer. Is there any reference for how many more AI men or what type of fortifications at each level, enabling me to judge when it is worth the research points? At this point I have never used it because I am not sure if it is worth the points (verses mortars, machine gun emplacements, improved armor, improved AT, or engineer trucks)

From my experience they get machine gun emplacement, but for the remainder it is just infantry. The amount of troops they get is actually so high that as long as you are defending the enemies main point of attack they will not be able to take any of the other points.

is there any guide or similar for the research tree? I haven't come across one yet. It would be great to know what you get for each of the things you unlock.

no guide, also in the research tree you don't see the unit description, you have to go back to the main menu to see the description. also, the MP points are not shown before the equipment is researched. suggestion is to play several times on easy setting so you can search through different paths into the research tree, take some notes and build up your own information sheet.
