Dispersion of guns - advice before making mod
Hi. I'm really annoyed of current dispersion system for guns (any large caliber, not small arms). Seeing tanks will full aced crew cannot hit 150M target and missing a lot near it is frustrating.

That lead me into making mod which reduces gun dispersion (latter called "spread"). Before making anything i'd like to hear something from you - plaerbase. How much would you like to see spread reduction?
- By half
- To bare minimum (to make tanks as accurate as in real life, lets say 25% of current spread)

I'll wait for answers to Saturday morning and i'll start to make it smaller.

BTW - are you happy with current artillery spread? Would you like to see decrease for these too? Eventually increasing its range? How big decrease of spread and how much range increase you would like to see?

Artillery feels balanced, so as to not entice camping so much. Pretty underwhelming against armor, but devastating against infantry and soft/unprotected targets - aka working as intended!
Cannons have some really varied accuracy ratings, for historical reasons I guess. The german 88mm is super accurate, while the 75mm (non-Panther) and the 50mm are a bit unreliable. Soviet (tank) guns, on the other hand, are as inaccurate as they should be. However, I don't want a base increase in accuracy, since that would make the AI an absolute demon. Perhaps the "lock-on" bonus could be increased, just a little?

I don't see any need to increase accuracy of tanks and AT guns. For Sowjet tanks it actually could be decreased, given the abysmal performance of their optics (it should not because of balance). 150 m in the game are not the equivalent to 150 m in the real world. I think you overestimate the performance of tank guns and tank optics in the WWII, or generally the abilities of humans under combat conditions.

The inaccuracy of artillery in the game is a bit annoying (for me as ex-artillery soldier) but I see the necessity for it. Artillery would be too effective otherwise if you take into account the narrow space of the maps and the unrealistic ability to fire immediately after sighting an enemy.

So You rather to leave it as it is - ok. You have pointed very strong argument - AI tanks as "demons". That would be side effect of this mod :( .
Since i played a lot of sims, i think optics for both - germans and soviets were relatively good - soviets on T-34-76/M1943 had also periscope sight, which could be used for shooting from cover.
In Steel Fury (with STA paid mod) i used all tanks available for this mod, and need to say, optics were quite good. Same for Il-2 Tank crew, T-34 vs Tiger, and few other titles that i dont remember right now.

Thing is... balance. You are right, game would need much bigger changes with AI, spawn rate propably and spawn cost for tanks, as then, that steel beast would be terrible oponents for other players also.
Thanks for the feedback, still waiting for some toughts.

The only thing I hate is the infantry weapon spread, tanks and artillery are okay

Soviets had indeed horrible optics (sometimes even missing completely). The periscopes where for most parts just polished steel plates.
