1. The game engine runs better, loads MUCH faster and has a higher frame rate. (In the first game the ground and background would move with a micro stutter which was just part of the engine, fortunately this was later fixed in the sequels and is fixed in this release of the game since the whole game is running on the Helsing 3 engine).
2. The game offers 6 classes as opposed to the 3 in the first game.
3. The in-game menus have been upgraded and the skill trees have been refined so they are easier to use. (Huge plus since you will navigating the same menu through the whole campaign instead of having the menus switch between the game titles).
4. Your characters will remain in use through the whole campaign, as opposed to restarting a new character at the start of each game.
5. Many of the unfair spawn rates in the original game have been reduced to make the game playable. (There were some areas in the original game where mobs would spawn so fast you could hardly progress and would be stopped at a bottle neck killing the endless horde of re-spawning mobs and not moving forward until you leveled, gaining enough power to overcome the spawn rate).
6. The cut scenes have been changed and the dialog was retooled, cutting out a great deal of the childish/redundant conversations which brought the overall aptitude level of the game up a bit.
7. The game is broken up into acts and you will be graded on finding the hidden missions while playing in the act at the end. You can still go back and complete the quests after finishing the act.
As far as rating the game mechanics and campaign itself: this game is basically what I would expect if Diablo 3 was made to look and feel like Warcraft 3. The setting and characters are a bit cartoon like, the plot and quest line is pretty basic and AI enemies are all pretty basic. I am not saying this is a bad game, especially for the price. But I did find Grim Dawn to be much darker game, with better graphics, a vastly deeper character development system and a more mature plot.
This feels like a "PG-13" game. I was originally hoping for a much grimmer world with more horrific events, being that the plot is based on Van Helsing and all the monsters contained therein.
Anyway, considering the sale price, you will get considerable bang for your buck and a streamlined experience with the Final Cut over buying the games individually.
Ah ic thx but then again story wise when I play new game I will start from the beginning where the bridge got blown out?
They kept making changes to the skill tree in each version of Van Helsing.
Also, in VH1, you can only choose between 3 classes. In Final Cut, you can choose between 6 classes. In VH2, you can import a character from VH1. In VH3 you cannot import any characters (because they added more classes). In Final Cut, you can use the same character to play the entire story line.
