Well, he really is meant for hit and run tactics. His umbraform cooldowns can get really low, so you never have to spend more time than you need to get off a couple of attacks uncloaked. Other than that, there's always his defensive auras, chaos armor is really strong, for example.
Inhuman Rampage 4 is probably not a good idea for a first-time high level character. You might want to consider dropping back to Fearless or Inhuman Rampage 1 if you can handle it, farming up gear more appropriate to the higher tier of difficulty, then trying again with another class later.
Hopefully there is eventually some way to change classes mid-play, not as a DLC (that would be frustrating, since I was planning on importing my character originally from the first two, and that's now impossible). That would be awesome if they add in class change, or someone figures out how to do it!
Maybe I'll try to figure it out.
