Changes were also made to the base games post-launch to patch and tune them.
[Example] How many Beggars do you need to pay at the Sewage Plant to trigger access to the Beggar King Quest?
I literally started over while playing vh1 when I read about final cut, bought it and started over again so I can see the difference right there between the two games.
Just got through the siege bit from vh2 in final cut (rip private bryan lol)
it'd be nice to know how they spliced some of this together but maybe it won't be the same thing moving forward. Guess I'll see.
When you find the correct answer you might take a different view of these guides.
If you take note of the environment as you move around you should get a much better outcome with Private Bryan. Took me until the 3rd attempt to find the best way.
Final Cut is a kinda smoothed out version of the previous three, which were very much experimental, some great parts, some that never quite stacked up
a little difference of a number versus maps missing entirely are two completely disparate things. It would still be nice to know the major changes between standalone to final cut but google hasn't shown much.
Also, how tf do you expect someone to try to save bryan except by starting over completely? I'm not that dedicated and I already started over once for a different reason.
I still want to know what the rotten heart is used for but oh well.

Its true several quests were removed or remade and incorporated with others to streamline the quests. As to the specifics, I dont remember seeing the heart in VHFC but I havent touched the campaign in a few years. I mostly been in the adventure maps getting toons to level 100.
Another example in VH1 you picked up machine parts to use in the Tower Defense portions of the game but that was cut along with another item drop I dont recall the name of.
The chapter end grade sheet is buggy as some quests cant be finished before the chapter ends lol. I dont know how they missed those when splicing the games together.
thanks a bunch for the info. I'll look at that mod. yeah I noticed the lack of machine parts dropping as well.
Also, all of vh1 I did just a day or 2 ago so I kinda rushed getting past rooftop mayhem and I didn't even think to run back to base and at the very least, drop all my stuff in storage and as soon as chapter 4 started I was like crap. I remember this level. I'm not getting to the lair for some time now. poor bryan died cause I was rushing trying to get past the mission.
I don't mind so much that there's cut content. I'm just a tiny ocd in that I like to know what I'm missing.
that's really great. are these mods the kinds of things you want to apply to a new game or are they safe for existing saves?
edit: nevermind. I read your post and see it's existing game friendly. thanks for your work. I'll probably look into adding them.
Getting spoonfed isn't as satisfying as exercising your grey matter successfully, esp. when the spoon is bent/feeding you poison...
thanks for the lesson in being pedantic. so glad you understand everything I was doing moreso than I was able to type out in a 100 characters or less. your sage wisdom is 100% lost on me.
Just to be clear, I just ran 2 guys back to base that were immortal and assumed bryan was as well. when I failed the mission, I realized I made the same mistake the last time I played VH2. Now I know ofc and it had nothing to do with being spoonfed. If I WAS being spoonfed, I would have read that he is in fact not immortal and you have to save his sorry ass cause his cakes were so delicious. tbh, he's better off dead.
I understand completely, it's the same questions I had when deciding whether to play the trilogy or Final Cut, and I could never find any useful info other than "they turned 3 classes in to 6" and really vague statements about how some stuff got "cut" or "streamlined."
Here's the rough draft of the post, it's still a work in progress but I don't mind sharing it:

But part of me is wishing I just kept on going in original games but oh well, yay, new experiences. lmao
I'm playing the constructor so even in hard it's still hard lmao without my minions my toon pretty much sucks and I've died quite a few times now but it is still a really fun game and the VO is one of the best.
Constructor is very powerful in final cut, the fact alone that they get full damage bonus from flat damage bonuses (e.g +x fire damage) makes the minions shred through maps faster than most classes. Their power-ups also persist for as long as the minions are alive makes the class very rage efficient. Increasing minion hp is probably the biggest issue and even for that there are plenty of auras, enchants and items.
From what I hear the biggest problem with the original trilogy is the mess that is VH3. The first two games are loved by many but the third one is quite controversial. I've played through VH1 twice and probably my biggest issue with it is how bad melee classes are in that game.
I really enjoyed the overall theme of the game and the interactions between VH and Kat were entertaining. Overall I really loved the game but the math behind allot of it was flawed and made power fluctuations harsh in some areas. To be cruising thru ripping everything anew hole to all of a sudden be one shot on next map was a head scratcher.
