i play these games cause i love to collect items and optimize my build. i really hate to lose stuff permanently after many hours of play.
Plan ahead, there are alot of escort quests so be prudent in clearing out the areas so they are much easier.
The TD maps are well balanced and it means you are building the map incorrectly. I and many others had no issues and beaten every single thing this game has to offer and comparing this game to others of its ilk, this game is fairly easy compared to some.
If you are having issues, its best to ask for help instead of going off half ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
I made an exhaustive guide in the guide section offering lots of tips. Its there for the reading.
Hope it helps you as it has many others.
How does one "clear the map" of infinitely-spawning pod drops, exactly???
And anyway, no, I didn't know that. Nor did I know that the quest could be failed, or that he was prone to running off ahead on his own into trash mobs for no reason whatsoever. Even if I did know all that stuff before it happened, it would still be awful design anyway.
If I am "building TD incorrectly," that that bespeaks horrible design, because the game only gives the player about 10% of the resources that would be needed in order to build a sufficient number of towers to hold off all the enemy waves. If it was properly-balanced so that it gave the correct number of resources, then it would be possible to build correctly.
Not all games will hold your hand nor make things easy for you.
After playing thru this 5 times, you just learn things like you do in any other game. Allot of games have a rogue element of some sort to them. Consider this that part for you.
TD maps has more to do with the what the next wave consists of than just placing things anywhere. Look for choke pints, look for where a turret can overlap a couple spots so it gets to fire 2x at a target. Use the synergies of the towers together. Click on the wave info icon to get an idea of what to expect in the next wave.
There are a couple traps that are useless like the spring trap, but you learn that with observation and playing. Spring trap is so spotty to use, its just not worth it.
Also quantity of traps doesn't always beat out quality. Sometimes upgrading a trap is better than a new one.
you can sugarcoat it like you want but it is miserably disigned and badly programmed. They never fixed their broken quests.
The guide I wrote has alot of bugs listed as I made a bugs section and this is not on the list.
Guess you young ones just want every single f'ing game to be dumbed down just like all the newer remakes of old games just so you can play game with eyes closed.
Please give me a break.
You can look back at my post history and see many times I absolutely condemn this studio for leaving many things unfinished or broken, The arguments with Datguy13 who is/was a play tester for this game.
Is the game perfect? Nope not by a long shot, is there game breaking bugs? At least devs did fix the majority of those. Allot of nuisance bugs are left that detract from game but its not broken to the point of unplayable.
Theres tons of quests, just move on and chalk it up as a learning experience.
with higher difficulty enemies will do more damage but private ryans hp stays the same.
the enemies will kill him in one shot. you can't do much about it but reduce the difficulty, if you know about the bug.
Its not bugged you just have to be fast and have a decent build, but why bother with that. Its just easier to come here and whine.
If it was so bugged how come there arent hundreds of posts pointing this out ? Why are the folks who play fearless difficulty not on here backing you up?
- Select option 1 - Easy Commander when speaking to Petrov to get this quest
-- Find Private Bryan
--- Talk to resistance captain on way
---- Escort Pvt Bryan to same northern drop off point as other quests
----- Completion 5000xp 5000g 1ap 1sp
Excerpt from guide - if I didn't beat it, how would I know the rewards?
There is a trick but since noone is interested I will keep it to myself. Good luck
you can play poe, its more polished, faster gameplay, better endgame and active community.
That is literally the exact opposite of what an escort quest actually is. Your comment proves the OP correct.
Sure, you guys were able to do it, and that's great and all but it doesn't mean the game is actually well designed. I was able to finish Agents of Mayhem and Vermintide 2, that doesn't mean that they don't both suffer from severe design flaws.
I make that 3 methods, and all work for me . There's more life in a salad bowl than there is in that Private, recce it on a YT/Twitch playback and have fun ^^
Watch some playthroughs, learn how far you can get from him until he stops, look for other avenues, they're there just waiting for you to discover them, regardless of difficulty level.
Anyway, I didn't like Van Helsing II at first because it starts with the battle scene and was very confusing, so I skipped over to Van Helsing III and played that. I wanted to master all 3 games so I went back to Van Helsing II, determined to learn it. After running several characters through it, I finally understood how to play out the entire scene. You won't be successful with Private Bryan until you have leveled up a little more and improved your build so you can kill the mobs faster. Hence, clearing most of the other objectives on the map first is a good idea. After a while, you notice the pattern of mobs that will always show up and you plan for them.
I've leveled many characters on Van Helsing II, on every difficulty and every class, and now it's my favorite one out of the series! I don't like tower defense stuff, so I let my helpers take care of that part, and I've learned which helper to send on the mission and how many resources I need to have before sending them out. There is also a guide for those who want play this part of the game like this.
In conclusion: The game is not broken and does not need fixing. It's not absolutely necessary to save Private Bryan. It won't break your character if you don't save him. The reward isn't so huge that you can't compensate for it in other ways. If you want more xp or gear, you can get it from respawning maps. Look up some guides, as has been suggested, or keep trying it in different ways. You WILL figure it out! Best of luck to you.
