The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut

Are power ups worth bothering with?
So far they don't seem worth the skill point they cost to purchase, much less the hassle of rationing out. Are the early skills' power ups just useless while the later skills' power ups are actually significant?

I'm playing as a mage, if that means anything. I don't know anything about the other classes' power ups.

haven't played a ton yet but some seem really nice depending on the skill. iirc (havent booted the game today and won't do so just to check atm) the exosuit class gets a powerup for one of their buff skills to get invulnerability for a few seconds.
They only work for one use, so early game it can seem weak to use up most of your rage which can take a whole enemy group or 2 to gain so that 1 attack deals twice the damage or whatever, but stuff that lasts benefits from them for it's entire duration, so it's not bad. Some powerups have nice effects which may be worth it depending on what you want from your character.

Just in case you don't know, each use of a skill can be enchanced with 3 powerup charges which can be spread however you like, even 3 of the same, but not 3 charges of all powerups simultaneously.
If I remember correctly there's an option that automatically uses a powerup preset whenever the rage is available, taking out the necessity to manually do it yourself every time you can. If I'm not wrong about this option, then yes they're absolutely worth it

I seem to recall that being correct as well. I think I found it too awkward to use them manually, so I just let them work automatically, and I recall them working well.

Yeah if you're the type that doesn't use rage at all it's basically a free boost, depending on the skill and powerups you get it's probably gonna get you more return than the perks that give you additional damage and whatnot at max rage. You can just put a point or two in the best powerups for your main skill and just be on your way, that's basically one level's worth of skill points
I suppose I'll just ignore them for now until I find what seems like an okay one then, then throw on that auto-use option. Thanks for the answers, everyone.
