I only once reminded someone how old the thread was when they were blasting someone who left a comment years ago. There's no point in swearing at someone who probably hasn't been playing the game in a very long time.
It would be better if more people would use the search function, because a lot of people keep asking the same questions over and over, just hours after each other.
I constantly read blaims against "necroing" old threads, even though, the topic is up-to-date. I posted my issue in a 4 yeahr old thread, which I found via the search-function. Although the title said something about an offline-character bringing online, the posts were also about my issue with the emai. I appologized for necroing, and posted a reason, why I did that. But another said, I should create a new thread, So I've done that. It was all in a normal tone, however.
But I saw this with other tones aswell, for threads, not 2 months old...
If threads didnt slide into oblivion, after folks posting the same questions over and over, there would be no need for guides
I've successfully used multiple variations of each of the above.
