Activating Aura

I'm playing the FC version. How do I know my Aura is active? There's no icon to suggest it is.

They sometimes show on the bottom left side of the screen, though not all do, those that are time/distance-based do, permanently on Auras usually don't, others like monster type-specific ones don't.

Some of them affect your stats, so you can drag/drop them into/out of their slots to check those.
