The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut

Class changes from the first game
So I played the first Van Helsing when it first released and the character class in that game was well frankly just a monster hunter which was rather approriate for the character who could use a mix of magic, guns and swords both two handed and one in each hand, which to me fit the monster hunter image of being adaptable.

Now some years later after having not payed a lot of attention to the series as a whole I curious to see what has changed check out the final cut to see what has changed and now see that there are 6 different classes each with very specific playstyle but very different ones with dedicated melee and magic classes and whatnot and while not necessarily a bad thing it cant help but rub me the wrong way as the orginal monster hunter class seems to be "missing" or rather just removed

I guess what im trying to get at is why did they remove the original "van helsing" class
And the reason why i ask this is because its the class that best fits the character rather than some guy in a mecha suit not that im saying you arent allowed to play what you want but the removal of the original class kinda breaks the immersion for me

On a kinda seperate note the class system or rather lack of classes that use two handed weapons also kills it for me (i know you can use a shield with a two handed looking weapon but what i would want is just a big sword no shields(

Granted in the first game van helsing used two handed swords in one hand but the point still stands

They revamped the class system with VH3, and I personally shunned the game because of that - mostly because they removed the Hunter class. In VH2, Abraham could actually swing halberds and hammers (Polearm weapon class) in addition to the whole stuff from VH1. For me, VH2 kinda is the best game out of the three; four, mechanics-wise when looking at the Final Cut.
The Bounty Hunter plays somewhat closely to the original Hunter class if skilled on mostly ranged, but even then the BH still lacks the whole "Expert on the Arcane" stuff.
All in all, my personal opinion is, that class revamp (or, mostly just the removal of the Hunter class) was Neocore's biggest mistake regarding the whole series.
