This is a pretty easy build that works through the whole game. I cant say if its fun for you, it was for me atleast.
My favorite class is probably the Protector, but i wouldnt recommend it for a first playthrough
My Constructor summons maxed out Ornithoptors to kill things and Freezing turrets to soften things up. I can summon ground pets if desired, but my upgraded Gun Turret does the majority of my damage. Officially I am just out for a walk with my pets, and they do all of the work while I sometimes fire a maxed out Caltrop Gun or Energy Beam. I also am maxing out the skill that buffs the pets' damage.
My Phlogistoneer just fires a ton of rockets into the face of foes, and sometimes gets in the middle of foes and launches a grenade into the air which scatterbombs the foes around me. He's set up to buff damage as desired. Officially he's a sickly crippled (polio) genius who made a suit for mobility and protects himself with a good offense.
For both of these I prefer to have Lady Katrina set to melee DPS. I find them always fun to play. Put the points in as you need to when leveling, and once you have enough points to use the skills you want to enjoy most, respec into them.
The other classes are fun too, but my preferences are pet class engineer and steampunk iron man engineer.
If you really aiming to win the game with one character, you might be dissapointed, i tryed to do this, but at some point had to start over with other char in order to find better gear. That sounds stupid, right? Why would i make a new hero to get gear for my main hero if i can just go in previous locations with main hero and get items that way. WRONG! If you will go back for gear you will LEVEL UP in the process, which means by the time you get new and strong gear, monsters will improve in levels as well, so when you get back to your main journey where you left it, you current improved gear will be obsolete (useless and weak)... You get it? This is how Van Helsing works and this is the biggest dissapointment part for me.
Sure, you can just use a guide to play other players build, which is no fun at all, yet they mostly tell you how hero will be doing late game, skipping those early-mid game sections i pointed out. Aaaand, you could just download Path of Exile for free (tho i would suggest you to wait for a few months untill update 3.0.0 will release with 6 additional Acts).
wtf is Van helsing final cut that bad ?
I loved van helsing 1
This, and other statements the quoted poster made are inaccurate and highly misleading.
I have beaten Final Cut twice each with all six classes during and after the testing and balance phases of the game. I have done this with characters as low as level 50 on Fearless Difficulty.
At no point was equipment ever a concern. Between the Vendors, quest rewards and drops found, my gear was always within four levels of my character level. Only gear at least 6-10 levels below your current is obsolete in nearly every case.
Any class will be sufficient. The easiest is the Black Widow build for Bounty Hunters, but if you pay attention to the guides and search the forum for tips, you can beat the game on Heroic or Fearless Difficulty modes on a first play through.
