If it were free, the amount of cheating and exploiting on new steam accounts with no family share link, would surely destroy servers like my own, and many others. At least make our job 10x more difficult in keeping the peace.

Bruh. If it was free, let's say it is, the playerbase would be cancerous like Fortnite or other F2P games. The playerbase isn't dying, if anything, it's growing. Also learn english.
