Garry's Mod not loading to main menu
Everytime I launch it launches fine but doesn't load to the main menu i end up having to ctrl+alt+del and using the task manager to end program only to get a message saying HL2 is not responding. The game has ran before on my comp 3 or 4 weeks ago. I'm assuming the game is not updating or theres some updatre error. Also i can't uninstall the game evertyime i delete local files the game stays on my library and the folder remains in my steamapps folder.

Check the console for any LUA errors about CreateFont. If you see it, note the path and go to your addons and delete corresponding folder. After that it should work as expected.

Have you unsubscribed to any Workshop items lately? If you have, delete all the .gma files in your garrysmod/addons folder. Gmod will have to redownload them but everything should work.

Restarting my computer and steam multiple times seemed to help in the uninstalling of Gmod reinstalled the game and everything works fine now except now team fortress refuses to validate the content and stays at 36% tried uninstalling that now its stuck there. A grey box pops up saying uninstalling team fortress and says its working but then it goes away and pops up again 10 minutes later repeatedly this happens.

You can make this little trick: Start defragmenting the game content of TF2. Watch the count of clusters. If it's showing you normal count of clusters, press cancel. After that Steam client should be able to run game w/o validating. If you're running Garry's Mod while you're doing that, unmount TF2 and remount it.

I tried using the trick a little while ago it seems Teamfortress wont defragment sitting at 0% with 0/11 clusters

Try deleting your steam blob file? It will redownload/update the steam client. Have you tried running steam as admin? Verify the HL2 and Garrys mod caches? Any variety of things can cause Half Life to stop responding.

You have to wait at least few minutes. Since TF2 is very big game it takes so long to even start defragmenting.

Go into your steam folder and maually delete the Team Fortress folder. And then reinstall accordingly? You may need to delete your Steams Blob file. And then restart steam. It is amazing how many issues can be fixed by simply deleting the blob file.

Thanks for your help everyone. I think that may have solved the issues. I have to appologise, I lack the mental capacity for patience when it comes to these things as a result of ADHD and I cant say i care much for the actual game itself Teamfortress as I dont play it. I'd just like to have it uptodate as theres things i like to use from there in Garrsymod13. Thanks again for your help.

i kinda found out something about this problem ( as i suffer from it too ), so i tried to verify the cache thing and it got me 36 Failed to verifiy files = 12mb, launched the game and the menu didn't show up, but then i tried again but this time it was 21 failed to verify= 2.1 MB but it showed the menu, closed an relaunched the game many times and it always worked after that ( 2.1 mb update ) then i restarted the steam + PC and i got ( failed to launch error ) then did the same thing again and it showed the menu, so keep on trying that verifying thing till it shows the menu ( don't verify it again after it show the menu, unless it gets you the failed to launch error )
sry for all of this writings
