Addons not installing (Yes I've done the procedures) (Fixed)
FORGOT TO EDIT THIS AS I'VE MADE IT WORK.

I changed the steam install location back to the usual spot (program files, etc) and they started working normally after installing the things again

---------------------

So uhm, hi everyone, been having some issues with gmod, the addons won't even show up at the addons folder, but i see them downloading

I've tried
  • Installing
  • Reinstalling Gmod
  • Reinstalling Steam
  • deleting Steam/appcache
  • removing workshop files ( legacy.bin and _4000.acf files )
  • clearing download cache
  • verifying files
  • waiting for 2 weeks to reinstall gmod after a clean uninstall of it

I might be missing some of the things i did but that's the summary
help anyone? My OS is Win10 and it used to work before I updated from Win8.1

    EDIT:
Here's the log of me booting the game up with the map "gm_lair" supposedly downloaded

Initializing Awesomium.. Parent cvar in server.dll not allowed (p2p_enabled) --- Missing Vgui material hud/leaderboard_dead No Kinect SDK Failed to read addon 104488112! --- Missing Vgui material vgui/servers/icon_replay --- Missing Vgui material vgui/servers/icon_replay_column Extraction failed.. Oh oh! (C:/Users/Mr. Matt/Steam/steamapps/common/GarrysMod/garrysmod/addons/gm_lair_104488112.gma) END: DownloadAddons Addons have changes - remounting Not loading addon 'addons/gm_lair_104488112.gma' - file doesn't exist Couldn't mount addon [gm_Lair][addons/gm_lair_104488112.gma] Removing bad addon addons/gm_lair_104488112.gma

Try deleting all of your .vbf and .db files in your gmod folder.

So you managed to solve this problem? As far as I understand, this problem occurs in people with windows 10.

Have you checked to see if the addons are going to the right folder? Only way I can think is to check your addons folder. I can be totally wrong as I've never experienced this problem.

All .gma files is missing in addons folder.
sierra Feb 1, 2020 @ 12:02pm
I think the game will not recognize the files unless they are in the addons folder. Maybe use file explorer, if theres any addons you know the file name of ( for example gm_bigcity_105982362.gma is the file name of bigcity if you were in your addons folder, if you looked for the bigcity addon that would be the name of it ) search the name of it on the file explorer. Download bigcity or something and search the addon name I gave and see what file it goes to.

Or just search up .gma (which works for me). If it DOES work and you find where the files might be going ( if they arent just getting deleted ) move them all the the addons folder and it might work.
