If you've never read Lovecraft..is this a good way to get into it?
As the title says. I've never read any HPLC But always wanted to. Sadly with my dyslexia reading can be a hell of a task lol
I do plan on grabbing some on my audible eventually but I was wondering would this be a good starting point? it may introduce me to characters/monsters etc or would I be best just going straight for the books? thank you :)

Obviously the books will give you the original stories and lore around the mythos.
That said, this game is nothing like the story of the same name but I don't see any harm in playing it first, it might inspire you into grabbing those audibles.

It will inspire you. It's a good story like in his novels. Go and play it. Then read/listen "Shadow over Innsmouth".

It's not bad at all, but unless you just hate reading, I would suggest going straight to the source as most of his stories are short stories and don't take long to get through.
In fact I'm pretty sure that they've published his collections for free on both the kindle and nook.

Honestly I would start with call of cuthulu dark corners of the earth if you want something relatively close to LC related lore and such

I got this game back before I was even remotely familiar with Lovecraft's work. Its a slow paced but I thought an interesting game so I don't see why you wouldn't like it. If you like the STYLE of game, you may want to check out The Beast Within and The Shore as well.

It checks all the boxes, but offers nothing special.

There is also The Sinking City (2021), but in my opinion it's a little bit boring game.

I recommend 'Horror at Red Hook'.

I also recommend looking up the name of Lovecraft's cat. (snicker, snicker)

Various readers have made audiobooks of Lovecraft's work. Look for Horrorbabble on Youtube, or the HP Lovecraft Literary Podcast. There's also a group called the Apocalypse Players who make a podcast of their game sessions. (It was the tabletop RPG that brought about the general rediscovery of Lovecraft, so games have a special place in the lore.)
Not really, despite the title this has nothing to do with Cthulhu. It's just the umpteenth version of The Shadow over Innsmouth.

It's a strange fact of life that any and all titles claiming to be "Lovecraftian" are all Innsmouth variations like it's the only thing he ever wrote. Tis a wonder to behold.

You should watch the following movies for Lovecraft adaptations:
The Resurrected
Dagon
Necronomicon 1993 the one with Jefferey Combs
The Void 2016
In The Mouth of Madness
Underwater 2020
Lurking Fear 1994

not officially lovecraft but inspired by and really creepy:
Southbound
The Ritual
Event Horizon
Darkness 2002 [the one with Anna Paquin]

I would recommend also Lighthouse (2019) with Willem Dafoe as a inspired by Lovecraft.
