Most of the baddies in the Lovecraft mythos are not very vulnerable to gunfire anyhow. Guns are generally there to make you feel better :)

I can tell by that statement you've never actually read ANY of H.P's stories. This game is in NO WAY related to the Dark Corners of the Earth game. FFS if you think you're gonna get to a place where the game lets you go john rambo on baddies then you are damn sure gonna be dissapointed. Its not that kind of game. Cthulhu give zero ♥♥♥♥♥ about your tiny little pea shooter nor is it impressed by your pistol.

You might have had a gun but the point wasn't to use it in those games, either. The gun was only used in certain key situations. The majority of the game was about talking to people and finding clues. If you're looking for dark, moody games that have more action try the Resident Evil series.
