This was a game that was really getting in to... then an hour passed and I encountered a fatal error right before what I expected to be the first boss fight. The game had trouble locating a file and crashed whenever a certain scene was trying to load. I tried re-installing the game and that didn't work. I tried to locate the file myself and that didn't work. I think the game has potential but I'll never know because of this glitch.

EDIT: The developer of the game got in contact with me and told me he patched the error. The fact that the developer got in touch with me for this speaks volumes to me. I'm continuing the game from where I left off with no issues and I'm pretty excited about it. Thanks for helping me out!

It's not a terrible game, the maps, ui, combat and story are good enough.

I'm even willing to overlook the numerous spelling errors in every other line that could have easily been spell checked.

But the absurd encounter rate made me uninstall about 60% of the way through the game. There's a battle about every 8 steps. I just didn't feel like choosing flee any more. Auto-attack or auto-flee would have helped.

Fun game. The challenge level is a bit on the low side, but it is certainly enjoyable. Definitely recommend as an entry-level game for people who are just starting to play rpgs or for people who want a game that they can figure out without having to use a walkthru. Story is your basic collect the crystals and save the world fare. Most of the dialog is geared toward humor. The music is excellent. Game time is around 10 to 20 hours, depending upon how completionist you are. There are some interesting optional sidequests. Most of the secrets and Easter eggs are pretty easy to find if you do some exploring and search everywhere. The random encounters come pretty frequently, but the success rate is pretty high when you run away. Running away carries no penalty is lost gold (“hold” in this game) or xp. So you can just keep running away when you’re in a hurry to get from point A to point B.
Solid game. Fantastic value for its price.

Actually not a bad rpg maker game. Not really a hard game and it is more simplistic of a game than some but I did enjoy it. Nothing special about the story. The music was pretty good(except the store music..lol), and the hidden boss music has some funky tunes.

Spelling errors and bad writing should really be avoided in a story-heavy game. Especially in the opening.

Feels like it would have been much better if they made it in MV instead. Also, encounter rate is high. Story is good, however, and that's what I mainly look for in RPG Maker games. Sure, it isn't perfect, but for two bucks, it is worth it.

A young man with a missing father goes on a quest to find lost crys ..er.. Spinels to save the world from an ancient evil. Along the way he and his companions level up buy fighting large numbers of random encounters.

A very by the number RPG that follows the basic design lines without diverging at all.

Well, I finally finished it. I expected it to be a mediocre rpg maker game, but I actually didn't have any bones to pick at this one. Enjoyed, and about to start playing it through again after I find the last couple secrets in the game.

I wouldn't recommend this game souly because of the amount of time you are going to spend grinding for gold and level-ups in the beginnning. Most enemies are overpowered unless you have the best weapon the merchant has to offer. The art and story is not bad tho. It's cheap for the amount of gameplay you are getting. 6/10.

TLDR: Works as intended but struggles to hold your attention.

Xbox360 pad detected correctly. Art streched when fullscreened but otherwise no huge complaints. Everything looked stock asset. Story about spinels and sages and following breadcrumbs kind of narrative was boring and badly paced without any hooks or reason to care. Early game grind is a thing and areas have a lot of random spawning trashmobs in large empty areas that are laid out like mazes. Seems like there are about nearly a dozen hotspots littered around different continents so it seems like this dev's intention is to keep you on a long linear path until the end. Combat was pretty stock with nothing obvious about acquiring cool new abilities or anything. I also was not a fan of the front-facing sprites. The absence of sprites representing the party made the combat felt even more disconnected. This is not a mechanically refined title.
