i remember jack in a b2 opportunity log says:
"You buy from those war hippies at Maliwan, the gun’s named like “the Fervid Gospel” or “the Guileless Provocateur” -- some pretentious crap. You get a bandit gun, they can’t even spell “pistol” right. When you look at the names of those guns, you feel like a dumbass. When you look at a Hyperion gun, I want you to feel classy."

yea i feel like a dumbass when i saw how captain traunt do all that 'dumb jock soldier brute' routines.

i also remember b2 maliwan weapon trailer ads describing maliwan weapons like something so elegant, graceful and mysterious while they display animations of banditos being burned/electrocuted/melted to ashes. so that gave me picture of maliwan being filled with asian-kungfu-ninja-cult-ish zealot cyber soldiers doing their wars with elegant religious fervor or something. but b3 rendition of them is different from my expectations...

Yeah, ... I got a totally different impression of who Maliwan were from BL2 vs BL3.

Hardly the WORST thing the BL3 writers (got wrong) but ... it's still inconsistent based on the backstory presented in BL2.

Traunt has some good lines, for his short while in the game, and delivery.

I like most of the characters. I only wish Tyreen had been a different VA. Somehow she doesn't seem like a good fit, voice-wise, for the character of a popular video blogger.

I don't even watch those types of videos, but I've seen clips, and Tyreen just sounds too "actressy" and campy for the role. Casting could have done better with that choice.

My favorite VA is the cray cray bandit you hear on the "Musings of a Maniac" echologs you find in the first area -- I think it's also the same voice as Psycho Krieg, but I'm not sure. But such perfect writing and voice acting.

Ellie is also a favorite of mine. Cast and written perfectly.
