Recent Connection Issues
My entire group has struggled to get into a game together for the past few weeks. Nothing has changed on our ends but we cannot all connect to each other. At most three people will get into a game with the fourth unable to join. Does anyone have any solutions?

Same issue exactly here. Could get 2-3 of us together, 4 was impossible. One person would always time out, but it all worked fine the first time we played and now won't at all.

After a lot of troubleshooting over a few hours, reading every thread I could find on it, looks like this is a Shift service issue you can do nothing about to reliably resolve that only got worse after they patched out the Steam multiplayer that was previously built-in.

Gearbox hasn't done much about this known issue since the game launched and their official support will blame it on your network instead. Looking like it's dependent on how the servers feel and it just seems to get bad around holiday times, which is a pretty terrible look for a game they advertise as best in multiplayer.

Same, friend is unable to play the game in coop. Wish Valve would kick them into getting this fixed.

Same issue, seems to bounce around between different players in our group. Infuriating, and turns us towards playing another game rather than spinning the matchmaking roulette :/
Sometimes I cant sign in Borderlands 3 when I launch the game. Something on gearbox side is not wokring right..
You can try Radmin VPN and connect to local, not sure if it'll work but its free and worth the try. I know for a fact that it fixes lag for online play with your friends.

If anyone in this thread is still trying, now we're off the holiday peak it seems to be working better, which means it is just the shift system being absolutely terrible and not having any decent capacity to handle it
We had the same problem , i posted a thread a few weeks back.

You can use a VPN to create a "local area network"

Or you can set port forwarding rules in your router. We don't have any trouble now.
