don't like the game ?
fine.

uninstall, and move on.
New to this genre? Diablo would blow your mind then.
Don't feed the trolls
Have played many of the fps shooter-looter style games. Borderlands just plays better. If you don't like a game, then stop playing it and move on. I just wish there was a way to "turn in" all my games I don't play for some credit through Steam account.
You only play games like these for fun. Don't expect mind-blowing stories and characters.

Getting better at the game and farming new items - that is the core of a LOOOTERSHOOTER.

Yes there is difference in loot - you can choose if you want the gun with 15% more accuracy or 10% more damage... you know - having a choice.

If you think there is only a single-digit percentage difference - are you a game-"journalist" and got stuck in the tutorial?

There is a lot that can be said about the bad story, the problems with the quests, the many bugs - but you have chose to complain about the core aspects of the game. What is next - complaining that there are multiple colours to choose for your car in a racing game?

Yes copied from your duplicate thread

The Borderlands series is a looter/shooter with a story to hold it together.

A big part of endgame is farming for the best weapons of the style you enjoy to become OP and overcome tougher challenges.

The "bazillion/gazillion guns" is because in addition to levels, the stats are randomized per each of the parts.

You complain about old. Did you even look at the launch date?

--Borderlands 2009
--Borderlands 2 2012
--Boderlands The Pre Sequel 2014
--Borderlands 3 2019 (Steam got it in 2020 after Epic's exclusive)

You use a different person because each has their own playstyle. The characters don't have an increase over each other. What happens is you gain Badass/Guardian Ranks (BL2/BL3) by completing achievements/objectives that give passive bonuses to all your characters.

A good game has replayability. They are not one and done.

With old and cringe applied to the entire series, I take you are a young player who prefers games that are more pew pew without any story? That being said, each one has a different take.

BL1 solid but a bit dry for my tastes.

BL2 great ramp up in gameplay, story, character development, plus voice acting. (1 to 2 felt like Assassins Creed in jumping from a good foundation to excellent)

BL TPS is enjoyable, but understand it fell a little short. End game a little lacking (supposedly cut content), and was done by the Australian team so some references and humor hit differently. No massive story DLC like BL2, but Claptastic Voyage (from main team) was awesome. I think TPS is best viewed as a massive DLC itself to BL2 (since it gives backstory to significant NPCs).

BL3 Improved gameplay, but on most everything else it fell short. Disrespect and ignorance to the lore and character development built to date, antagonists (and an "ally") good on paper but executed so badly that players want to remove with a vengeance, and a feel of putting some agenda/representation/checking a list on higher priority than a good game. Plus Legendaries drop too often making even the 1st playthrough a breeze.

If you want to give the game a honest shot, play through BL2 before even touching Bl3 again. If that one doesn't work for you, then honestly BL3 will do worse.

From the sound of it, you bought both games on some sort of impulse knowing practically nothing about them and only played a short time in either. Either you just jumped around not getting a proper feel and understanding of what the games are about, or this just isn't the game genre for you.

In any case, in the future get more info on a game before getting the "ooh shiny discount" fever.

As others have alluded, this isn't Minecraft (only easter egg in BL2).

Hmm...maybe I should have checked game history first before that in depth comparison.

Not a lot of hours in most in-depth games. I guess Borderlands just doesn't fit the Cookie Clicker (or other clicker/idle games) itch very well.

Perhaps mobile games are more your speed?
