Still on Mayhem 8, the Ion Loader mostly hits like a truck and so does the War Loader (I haven't tried the Bull one yet). Yet there are drawbacks. One of them is the taunt doesn't work on things that weren't already spawned, and sometimes doesn't work then either, it seems to have a radius from where the burst lands. I still have a mesmer grenade for this as basically I'm doing ~20% of the DPS I was doing before and the pets are doing far more.
A bigger problem has been boss fights. I went after the Seer from the end of the podcast DLC and after a while Gamma Burst glitches and will not reset anymore and the fight is literally impossible - it was impossible at MH8 for me on the Hunter build as well for a different reason, running completely out of ammo and the respawns of trash mobs stopped at some point.
I saw the same thing happen in a very long Tyreen fight which I lost because of it (they were down to like 15% HP after at least 30 minutes) where Gamma Burst glitched and just says 4 or 5 and never resets again.
It's very random how strong/weak it feels, sometimes Ion Loader just one shots everything and other times it's endless spawns of Annoited Badasses (yes I run with the Cartel Event and there aren't limits on that either) and it dies. I got shut out of the Guardian Takedown almost immediately. The -50% Pet Cooldown purple bomb on death skill doesn't seem to work right either, and starts at like 40 seconds instead of 30.
Granted I have played with a Loaded Dice mod for like 150 hours at least and while I have much better stat mods I like to keep that one. The War Loader's "Rocket Barrage" is more like some RPGs that fire in an arc and missing frequently although when they land it's like 4M per nade of fire damage. I've seen Ion Loader hit for 10-12M but mostly it's far less - I do have all the the crit and crit damage skills I can get from the purple/blue trees maxed.
it's not that iron bear is OP(it is) but moreso that the other characters are UP. .
funny story, i just discovered through YT video, that TVHM mayhem 0 gives you more xp than any other mode, even mayhem 10-11 doesn't give as much xp.
so, like, if you want to farm for gear, go normal mayhem 11 as moze with an iron bear build until you ge tthe gear you want and then when youwant to play the game and. . have fun, play mayhem 0, lol
I googled that because there is no in game explanation and it's supposed to give 200% shock damage and some other ♥♥♥♥ for the duration. With some modest modifications to my build (maxing out the reload speed = more dps in purple tree, losing the 3 points in shield recharge and 1 in the +15% shield gain crit for the turtle shell in blue tree) with this shield I went to test if it works on pet.
To do this I switched from the Ion Loader to the War Loader because its primary damage type is fire so the electrical would stand out. Not only does it work but it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing.
I also started playing on Mayhem 11 cause I went to visit the Maurice black market vending machine[www.whereismaurice.com] and it's easier than MH8 because of no modifiers. Getting 50% base damage back makes War Loader + Revolter shield and a full pet build an absolute monster. I've seen grenades hit for 33M and with the skills I have the refresh is nearly instant.
Sure because of my Loaded Dice legendary mod, he sometimes gets 1 shot - even with the turtle shell/explosion on death with -50% cd that's bugged - but with the 75% damage reduction when FL4K has a full shield skill in purple, most of the time he's nigh untouchable and the frequent sheildbreak/recharge from crits means the "shock enrage" is nearly always up.
This means with Gamma Burst, which I built around, he does white/fire/radiation/shock damage. A few minutes ago I finished my first 100 points in the Hunter Guardian tree giving another 5% per active elemental damage type on enemy.
Now my only regret is I didn't find this sooner because it's awesome and I love it. I wish I had played the main campaign with a pet build. I guess I could do it again with TVHM but idk if I wanna dedicate that much time again.
In the interim, I'm still working my way through Gehenna and the Old West DLC while finishing both the Maliwan Takedown and a few other Trials I couldn't do before with ease. MH11 means what loot drops with all my luck are all MH10 legendaries, albeit not nearly as many, and I can change out the artifact for a DPS one instead of luck if I want and make the pet even stronger (it scales to MH level making the pet far better than any Hunter build could possibly be).
I haven't played Moze at all but I have seen a few people talking about 2 minute cooldowns on her pet. That would suck to play. When FL4K's pets bug out, which they always do, I summon something else.
