Who else here likes to go through the effort of collecting all 100 crystals and killing the boss without the upgrade as a metaphorical middle finger to Mickey Tricks?

Not sure what crystals you’re talking about despite me going through three entire playthroughs but the DLC adds fun to the game, however I’m sure you can get by just fine without it. I can’t say for certain but I’d assume that most SP based games aren’t as heavily reliant on DLC to play and be good at it while having fun. To me, this is one of those games, however I bought the ultimate edition while it was on sale at not even the full price of an AAA game. Definitely feel like I got my money’s worth.

Also, you can always use a save editor to give yourself a push, whether it’s big or small. There’s absolutely no shame whatsoever in doing whatever you want with your game to make it an enjoyable experience for yourself, especially if you paid your own money for it.

To the person above me, they are talking about a side quest in the base game designed to make fun of buggy early access games and micro-transactions.

To the OP, I've only actually played that side quest once, and yeah, I used the upgrades. If I ever bother with it again though I probably will avoid them for the heck of it.

EDIT: Spelling.

I've tried it, the boss can be killed without paying, and it's possible to get the crystals without paying. However, you get no easter egg or extra achievement or weapon for doing so. Hence it's best to just pay up as it makes things a bit quicker.

Oh, oops LOL. I’m interested in checking it out, though. Know where I can find the SQ?

Possible location spoiler to those that haven't finished the main story!

Desolation's Edge on Nekrotafeyo. Picked up off a bounty board.

Edit: Spoiler tags. Thank you kind person for letting me know they exist.

you can put spoiler tags around your text so it shows up as a black block and it only reveals itself when someone hovers over their mouse over it/taps on it on mobile.

to spoiler text, surround the text you want to keep hidden by typing "[.spoiler] whatever text [./spoiler]" but without the period in the brackets.

also thanks, checking it out now!
