The Quest Tracking System
I'm here for the game play and for the most part this is a very enjoyable looter shooter that has pretty good fast action sniping combat, which I find fun.

The story is a mess and the characters are for the most part extremely unlikable, which can be overlooked.

But the one thing that's driving me crazy is this clunky one at a time quest tracking system and its interaction with the map and interface.

Yup while some game mechanics have been improved from previous titles, or added in 3 there are some mechanics which are quite lacking. The primary offenders are the quest system, inventory set up, and vehicular combat. The changes to these elements from 1 to 3 are basically cosmetic, or simple quality of life while the one that received the biggest improvement is vehicular combat... changes which don't really amount to much different, and are mostly worthless as enemies absolutely shred vehicles even on mayhem level 1 (end game content increasing the difficulty up to 10 times in case you don't know). This means those features are in essence somewhere between 7-12 years old before Borderlands 3 was released, and that is if they aren't reused assets of previous games. The CEO of 2K is well known for cutting any corners he thinks he can get away with including a few amoral corners. So if the quest system quality really bugs you want to buy their next project until you have a source that the system has improved. Also all obtained quests are active it is just only the selected quest is visible so if you have a good memory it is possible to memorize the locations even with a large quest log.

It would have been great if they allowed you to mark the goals of multiple quests and for each player to have their own marked quest.

If you're playing with keyboard and mouse, you can use the square bracket keys [ ] to swap between active quests.

The quest tracking still sucks, but ... you can make it a bit easier with that.
