I would check videos from killer six or Joltz more recent builds as anything from 2020 to 2022 isn't applicable due to skill and weapon balances.
moze is my go to she is tough and iron bear /cub can be a lifesaver I have tried zane amara and flak and I keep returning to moze

I enjoyed Amara on normal difficulty going with the melee tree but using the phasecast ability. Lots of passive healing and damage reduction that rewards an aggressive medium/close range playstyle with shotguns and SMGs. You can build it so you're doing several different elemental type damages at once and its pretty fun once you get some good legendary weapons off the mid game bosses. Cloudkill/gigamind weapons with a % of all my damage converted to shock is just hilariously broken and carried me through most of the story.

Moze is generally the best for solo though. Take the skill tree that focuses on grenades and splash damage and you'll basically never run out of ammo or grenades and your grenades/explosions will heal you. When in trouble jump into the mechsuit and blow everything up.
Probably somewhat depends on playstyle, in solo (not coop) there's no lag and I usually go with anything with headshot crits - Zane.
Worked out for me. I haven't even tried any other class in this one, actually, having played every single BL game.
All chars are fine for a solo playthrough, just depends on your playstyle I guess. You can try out each character a bit to get a feel for action skill and trees then pick the one you like the most. FL4K was my favourite character, liked siccing my skag on everything. A lot of people seem to like Moze.

Just for a normal playthrough?
Really does not matter at all. The game is not hard and the real character differences only come into play later.

So Zane is the sniper then?
Unpopular opinion maybe, but playing Moze and spending just the 1 pt that's mandatory at the start, and playing through the campaign w/o spending another point is a rewarding and fun way to play. With the right class mod and weapons its totally viable and not terribly difficult.

I suppose the point also may be to not sweat it too much and just have fun with it.

My first choice was FL4K because I liked the idea of a pet class. At the time, I hadn't put anymore thought into it the choice.

After playing all 4, my personal favorite is Amara.

Yep, just went and checked, max level Zane Operative. Though I don't remember using too many sniper rifles, it's usually SMG or pistols. Run and gun type of gameplay.
in my personal opinion flak is the best character for survivablity since one of his green skill trees perks allows his pet to revive you so your trips to our friendly neighborhood respawn stations are severely lessened but idk anything for builds so take that into consideration ig
Moze is probably the best character for newbies. Iron Bear is extremely powerful, and one of her skill trees allows her to regen ammo albeit for the active weapon only and only until the magazine fills up, and at a rate is based on the magazine size, so some guns she can quite literally shoot forever.
Most of the BL3 Vault Hunters can emulate styles from multiple other VH's from the previous games. So ... if you had a favorite in one of the three older games, there's a good chance you can get something pretty close to it.

Zane for example can (fairly) easily emulate Mordecai, Wilhelm, Gaige, Axton, and even Roland.

Thanks. Seems like my guy. I like to snipe, and I am a fan of Necromancers, and Beast MAster guys so I get to have a pet to buffer the enemies while I snipe. :pewpew:

Torgue hasn't ever been a Vault Hunter, so ... I dunno what you're asking for here.

You want to blow stuff up? Well, probably Moze, or Zane then, but you'll have to figure out the details on your own. I'm not that fond of Moze, and I play Zane like Mordecai (although I'm more likely to use Assault Rifles in BL3 as opposed to the Snipers in BL1).
