I blame the claptrap too, because its totally another VO instead of the og one because he got assaulted by Gearbox CEO (yes, the same dude that doomed the movie from the start) and thus didnt get resigned. They did him dirty.
And I see no difference whatsoever in Moxie she's always used sexual references to everything. Now if you want to complain, check out the Borderlands sequel they absolutely destroyed her in that one, of course that game sucked.
Claptrap was never valuable to the team I think you have forgotten the times that he got in trouble and we had to go save him.
Tyreen is not redeemable as a video game villain. Yes they are supposed to be bad people, but when written to the point you actively hate them and feel audio pain then the writers of the character messed up bad. Morningstar and The Bane from BL2 are more tolerable and intelligently written than that sludge.
Moxie did feel to come unhinged a bit. Yes she flaunts her wiles, but (in the Borderlands sense) it felt a bit more classy before. In the Borderlands PRE sequel I think they tried to show what was beneath her front and show she is more capable but wasn't quite a smooth as intended.
With Ava, I'll just say good idea but they missed the mark in many places and shoehorned her. So BL4 better do something to properly flesh her out and give growth.
Claptrap needs to stay but without the original voice actor, it may be a slog.
And yet with all the immense faults you still have certain BL3 "fans" who are on their knees (in multiple senses) worshiping them and attacking anyone who dares praise BL2. It may be a sign of the troubled times we are in.
Moxxi ... yeah, they pretty much sidelined her in BL3, The Killavolt MAPS were great, that's one of my favorite maps in the game, but ... yeah, Moxxi's whole reason for giving you the quest was sleazy. She may have (had you) sabotage(d) Jack's dig site in BL2, but that was because he was cutting in on one of her business ventures. She may have destroyed the Eye of Helios in BL:TPS, but that's because she didn't want Jack to have a weapon of mass destruction.
Ava ... bleah ... there things they could have done with the character, but ... they didn't.
Pretty much all the writing and "humor" in BL3 was dumbed down, it was mostly just mean spirited, and ... bodily based humor. That's not to say that such humor didn't exist in the earlier games, but ... they weren't the main focus (of the "humor").
One of the things that's bafflingly annoying is the Crimson Radio Team Challenge ... the CoV radio is gratingly annoying, dull, and highly repetitious. Any given bit has about 6 short clips they play over and over and over. Crimson Radio on the other hand has hours and hours of music, commercials .. voice acting, it's actually enjoyable to listen to.
But every time you reload the map, there's the CoV radio again. I get that it's supposed to be annoying, but it's not like it's a trivial thing to go change it. You've got to clear out the enemies, you got to do various jumping puzzles, (some harder than others).
And ... it's just easier to turn the sound off.
And that's also pretty much what Tyreen feels like too. If she's talking (and I was listening) ... I mute the sound. She's annoying, condescending, and ... she's an entitled brat with no justification for her views or her success.
It's been years since the release of BL2, I've spent hours and hours on it, and yet, I still listen to Jack, even when HE'S being annoying, because he's also funny. Because he's actually an adult, who for all his narcissism and megalomania, actually fought his way to the top of the Hyperion heap.
Meh ...
BL3:
Horrible writing
Great game play
Legendaries drop too often
I already know this is bait but I don't care. It annoys me enough I have to say something, even though I know that you're just going to double down to farm clowns.
The Calypso twins being a jab at streamers doesn't make them any less grating and annoying to have to listen to. A joke is supposed to be funny and past maybe the first minute or so of knowing about their existence, they're not.
You're blatantly forgetting (or ignoring) how Claptrap was explicitly necessary TWICE in BL2 to assault the Bunker and to breach Jack's fortifications around the Vault. Without Claptrap the vault hunters would've been completely unable to stop Jack.
Lastly, if you don't see any change in character regarding Moxxi, you're flat out not paying attention between games. There's a huge difference between "makes a bunch of silly innuendos" and "literally cannot stop making small ♥♥♥♥/bad in bed jokes for half an hour".
the calypso twins aren't returning characters
2.
lol who gets upset over ♥♥♥♥ jokes?
3.
Hating on BL3's story is just a meme now. it's not real.
And no matter, BD3 writing still can be saved by some DLCs. Krieg DLC was very good in this regard.
Yes, but not the story that was being developed. It was featured in one BD2 trailer (that kinda let us know the character we were buying as DLC), while his background trauma was hinted via ECHOs and subtle idle dialogue (and cosmetic names). Nothing more. But I do get your point.
Ellie: I've never been able to stand that diaper wearing character. Her voice is unbearable, her character is a nuisance, and she's a total bore.
Claptrap: Handsome Jack was right about wanting to wipe out all Claptraps. Too bad he didn't get around to it.
Scooter: Thank goodness he's not around to see how things have turned out. Good for him.
1: That's why I prefaced the calypsos and Ava with "Going into the originals to BL3".
2: You're completely missing the point. The point is that it's a grating half hour of Moxxi shoving in ♥♥♥♥ jokes at EVERY. POSSIBLE. OPPORTUNITY. To the point it's painful. Her writing has ALWAYS been better than that, despite usually being full of innuendo.
3: I'm not hating on BL3's story, I'm hating on its treatment of the characters. I don't really get how you missed that.
1. Really hope that will be true for BL4. Tyreen better be dead and silent.
2. The issue is that Moxie went from occasional innuendo to keep her flirting personality up to just firing them off like a teenager going through puberty. If you think nobody gets upset, then I dare you to fire them off everywhere you go, including to your parents, the local school, any nearby churches, a job interview, etc. That should teach you there is a time and place.
3. No matter how much you try to "meme" it, the fact remains many players are legitimately upset with BL3's story and treatment of characters. However, I will acknowledge it has gotten so bad that people are automatically hating on BL4 when there is absolutely NOTHING out yet that gives us details beyond a small teaser trailer. Those have taken it too far.
Hate on BL3's story is real. No matter how much you want to claim that nobody has the right to hate it. The reality of the world doesn't care that you do not believe in it. One day real life will hit you hard and you will not be prepared.
