Fortunately that is just your opinion. May of us do in fact play Borderlands for the story even if you cannot see us doing so. Borderlands was a great combination of gameplay and story, Problem is that BL3 decided to turn story and character writing on its head. The writers of BL3 should have designed a new game instead of ruining someone else's good franchise.
In any case, this thread is a repeat of a prior one that got shut down because of how toxic it became. I would be surprised if this one fares any better.
Yumm! She has the best dad. Even protected her while she was on "vacation".
That would be a cool father-in-law...
It wasn't really all about Girl Power, though the all-girl protagonists/antagonists was due to wokeism (thanks to Sweet Baby Inc.).
Borderlands lore tells us that Sirens are the deadliest force known in the universe (which is why the supervillains keep trying to trap and exploit their powers). Sirens like Lilith become veteran leaders due to their fame and clout attained due to incredible heroism and vanquishing of archvillains.
But in this BL3 game, the Sirens are reduced to most idiotic suicidal wimps, and everyone around them are either whining, crying, killing or dying. Lilith does nothing in Sanctuary, except stand idly in the bridge of the ship making idle chatter or sarcastic quips.
It's as if the writers decided that they had to turns Sirens into mere plot devices that can do nothing by themselves except be trapped or die.
Mark my words. BL4 will again see Sirens captive and exploited by the archvillains, And vault hunters sent in to rescue them. Basically it's the plotline of BL2 all over again. And I won't be surprised to see Handsome Jack revived in some way, as the writers couldn't even come up with decent villain in recent games (though The Dragon Lord was a good enough villain, as Tiny Tina and gang's fantasy tabletop RPG trope equivalent of Handsome Jack. Will Arnett did a good job as voice actor as Dragon Lord, though Dameon Clarke as Handsome Jack is still the bee's knees in that department in this game series).
To be clear, I take no issue with anyone liking BL3 better than the others. We each have our preferences. But for those that only like it because it checks boxes under the guise of being inclusive, but not the game's own merits, they need a reality check Sounds like sweet baby needs to shut up and go out of business if they want to destroy existing franchises.
