does nopewpew weapon "break"

so i have noticed some weapons have this "after X shoots it will break" notice, so, do they actually break like, become useless? or is it just the animation of reloading? i have this nopewpew weapon that has been carrying me like crazy for 10 levels and just want to make sure.

COV weapons "break" meaning they overheat, its just an animation feel free to use it

No the breaks happen when they overheat and they will be cooled down before ya can use it again, the higher level mayhem version will last longer before this happens, my current one does 108 shots before it breaks

COV weapons break when they overheat too much.

these weapons are reloaded by repairing them.

You do not lose the weapon when it breaks.

It literally has a repair time stat. Reading and applying thought really does help, not sure why so many people don't do it these days

I actually thought it would break and avoided using any COV guns until over 100 hours later.

I also avoided them because of that text, maybe just a result of playing games where weapons actually break. Quite bad choice of words I would say. Now I just don't use them as I don't like them.
