Arms Race- Stormblind Complex- Murdercane?

Hi.

Sorry, maybe I am stupid. I am trying to play this mode solo. I only play SOLO- and mostly trying to get the Plasma Coil gun. The dang Murdercane keeps killing me. I dont know how this mode works or if you can hide wait out the storm or is a safe place or what to do. I have never played battle royal type games. I know games like Stalker a storm comes you have a safe place to run to and wait out the storm. This game you just die.

I can beat most all the enemies- then comes the storm and I am dead. It seems you cant get to all the chests or drop spots if any before the end fight boss. Before I can even beat all the bots to get a chest the storm comes and kills me. What am I doing wrong? I have tried like 15x. I am in a hurry- have a timer- the storm comes I panic and dont know what to do and cant get away from it and die.

I have tried to check out a view vids and or said for Arm Race beginners- but they are mostly tweet short small mind talk a few lines- we are to fill in the blanks or are just supposed to be born a god and know all. These people are poor teachers or trainers for sure. You cant expect that people just know what you are talking about and short them. Most people- you have to break things down into baby steps if you want them to actually learn or be able to follow you. These people are more trying to get vid views versus actually helping people- more click bait and they are so smart they actually offer little to no help. Even the in game info is short and confusing and not enough actual detail- a few lines and no real detail or what to do about the murdercane. The guides more or less just say- get a few weapons stock up and sell- buy more- and beat the end boss- but do not explain in enough detail about the murdercane etc. I almost want to give up on this mode but my Moze wants the Plasma Coil gun.

Can some said expert explain in detail what I am doing wrong. Seems I cant avoid the chests- I need stuff if for nothing else to sell to get gear to fight the boss- said I need both shock and acid for its shields and armor. It also seems I do not have time to get even 1 chest before the murdercane kills me. I understand all of that- its the Murdercane I do not understand. Maybe I am to just try and get 1 chest per run- beat it start another run and go for a different chest- I dont know. What am I to do?

Arms Race is like Roguelike with a timer. The Mudercane is the timer, it will eventually cover the whole map, so you need to be strategic on where you go for the loot. If you want a specific chest/item, you have to go straight there and get the item, and put it into one of those Weapon Mailboxes. The Murdercane will blot out certain parts of the map as time progresses so you can't just hang out in Arms Race forever.

You can see where the Murdercane is in the map of your Echo, and also a representation of where the Murdercane is moving to. The time limit on your screen represents the duration between where the Murdercane is, and where it will move to.

There is no safety area from the Murdercane except for the area right above the Harker boss where the 2 vending machines are located.

I did not nor might ever figure it out. I did go straight for certain chest said best drop rate for the Plasma Coil- the 2 chests did not drop it. I did before getting to the chests have a Plasma Coil drop by 1 of the bots and sent it off with the extractor near the 2 chests and the main end boss area. I lost to the boss- had 3 ok weapons all 3 with shock and acid but they was not great and was slow and slow reload time so I could not second wind in time- I did not have a good shield or nade and had no class mod nor artifact- the vend machine had nothing good to buy- I sold what I picked up and had near 4 million cash- all I could buy worth having was ammo.

I got a Plasma Coil so I am happy. Its 72 Lev- 10 Mayhem- 77199 Dam- 177034 Elemental Dam/s- 87 Acc- 60 Hand- 1.9 RLT- 14.17 FR- Anoint after Action Skill end 2 clips Cryo. I want 1 for Gunner with either Vanquisher plus 150% Dam or another Gunner trait.

I figure its more luck of the draw- you drop in sometimes you get ok/ good stuff to start with or collect a few good things and sometimes you have pure crap and just get beat and die or the murdercane gets yah. I was near ready to pull what little hair I have out at first- but just wanted the gun so kept at it. I will go back and farm it a lot more and just hope for the best. I like Farming. I bought the game less than a month ago have like 400 hours in it already. I am disabled so can sit here and play hours and hours. I will try for more of the loot you can only get from Arms Race and try for better Plasma Coils. It can be hard but not always so hard and the Murdercane is not always the same either- sometimes its worse or more often and other times it is not. Again more luck of the draw I guess is best way to put or say it.

So I am back at it and will stay at it until I feel I have enough good stuff. For any that might read. I did not think about it until later and wondered how I would get my loot sent out- and where to find it- and also wondered- well my Bank is full. None of this is explained or if so I missed it. The loot goes to your bank and even if it is full- it over runs. The boss killed me- I went back to Sanctuary III- my bank had 501 items- and my Plasma Coil the only item I sent back from Arms Race. I was worried - but am happy now. Later after thinking of and reading- I had read if your bank was full you would not get your loot. That is wrong- you will get it.

I emptied a few things from my bank so to have a little extra space just encase later something wants to bug or something. I have had the game crash- I am in habit when get to Sanct I hit the lost loot box and sell or clear out my inventory or bank and then go back and pick up off the floor the lost loot. The game crashed and all the loot on floor was lost and gone. It did not effect my inventory or bank. I was in my bank at time of crash- scrolling to fast maybe? Games can crash sometimes is just life. I have well over maxed out cash so no biggy. I do like to look it over before I sell it to see if I missed something good I might keep. Oh well. I do not pick up or sell so much now- its more habit. I do look for and or farm for better all the time though. :)

Congrats on the Plasma, it's a nice weapon. And yah, you got it, sometimes it's a good Arms Race run, sometimes it isn't. But that's what makes Arms Race fun, eh? xD

Avoid using shields with Projected modifier. Murdercane will damage you straight to your health instead of the shields first.
