Jabbermogwai Bug (No, not that one)

I've run into an annoying bug concerning the Jabbermogwai, a Hammerlock Hunt target.

Whenever I manage to kill it (I say manage because it has Resistance to all damage types), it doesn't stay dead. About 5 seconds later, it gets back up. This is after not letting it get wet and later on letting it get wet. I've closed to the main menu, and I've closed to desktop. So far, no fix.

Normally this is the kind of thing I'd Google about, but Jabbermogwai has another well documented glitch/bug to its name, so all searches focus in on that.

Has anyone else run into this? For what it's worth, I'm playing as FL4K. I thought maybe it was my pet causing the problem, but you can't exactly send your pet away so if it is - ♥♥♥♥.

So I killed him. The only thing that changed was that I finished the main quest that was in the area and I looted the Typhon chest. I did use fire damage this time, maybe I forgot to try it out last time, who knows.

He didn't multiply when he hit the water, though.

All I can suggest is to use a fire weapon and/or finish the main quest (or all quests) in the zone.
