Should take your own advice, as the only "troll" here is you.
My CPU frametime dropped a lot though, so for people with processor bottlenecks, DX12 should help a lot.
DX12 causes more stutter
Its a lose/lose situation.
I have a 1080ti and would buy a 2080ti right now if I could justify the cost. Obviously, you want the best GPU you can budget for.
Since most things still run great on a 1080ti and I have other stuff I want to buy, I'm holding off right now.
I'm going to spring for a i9 and new MB first, my i7 is getting old.
Exactly this
DX11 as well as 12 come from Microsoft while GPUs and their drivers (mainly) come from Nvidia and AMD. Those are three totally independent studios with their own focuses. And no one can look into code from each others except of the few open source bits.
Because you have better performance in DX11 when your FPS are limited by your GPU. DX12 will only result in better performance if your CPU is the limiting factor, or if you use an AMD GPU since they can handle DX12 better than NVidia GPUs.

Might have to try out the Dx11 later on After work to see if that might fare better.

this game has got to be the most unoptimized AAA game i've ever played. can barely stay above 60 fps on a mix of medium/high settings.
Turns out the game is crap
