Can i use a trainer in Coop?
I've played the previous borderlands and i'm 12 hours in with a single player Character
and i want to help a friend whom played a cracked version of the game skip a head with a trainer or mod of some kind
And is it even safe to use a trainer on a steam version?

For your point about duping a second character at level with you, there was a cheat engine script that let you hotswap your class. Locate your saves on your computer, copy your current character and add one more increment to it (if save 0008 make it 0009 or whatever), then load that new save and hotswap the class. Now save quit. You should now have two saves of the exact same character but two different classes. Just send him your hotswapped class save and you should be good to go.

If you're concerned about doing any of the above on your legit version of the game, tell him to do the same process on his cracked copy. Same result should happen.

If your 'friend" cannot be bothered to buy the game, and cannot be bothered to play the game, then why bother at all?

Go watch a youtube playthrough or something.

I asked because he played through the game Cracked so..
i just asking because i don't want him to lose His account.
FYI not me but thank you for being a Cancerous person.
So again will it cause any problem with Steam ? :praisesun:

If you're playing singleplayer then I'd say go for it, though this game is easy enough to play without a trainer, so get good. If you're playing multiplayer then I'd advise against it.

Trainers work and to some extent they will work on a multiplayer game. I don't believe Borderlands even has an anti-cheat operating simply because there's nothing competitive about the game.

The cracked version of the game would be the bigger concern regarding your friend losing his account. That's relatively easy to detect once you get online. It may not be today or next week but eventually if you played online enough he might get caught.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

What is your problem?
Most people don't have the cash to buy a game so it's understandable to Pirate or Share games

Thanks for the solution but Would steam VAC detect something like a trainer/Cheatengine on a swapped character or made new Character

Just because you don't have money doesn't mean you can break the law. So yes, I agree with Insignia, since he has pirated a game (broke the law) I hope he gets caught and a punishment is handed down.

No, it is NOT! Even talking about Piracy on Steam is actually against the rules, and this whole topic can vanish...

And don't tell that lack of cash is reason to piracy! I don't have money, I don't buy game (that's why I haven't bought BL3 yet... As I bought Metro Exodus and RDR2 this month and I am out of cash for games now...) this is simple! Gaming is luxury so you don't need to STEAL to live!

Listen unlike Certain Country's
not every 3rd world country has an option to dash out around 40-60 bucks for a game
And Poland was the first country to actually fight piracy and find different ways to play it
(GOG and like wise) since i live in a country that helds that law its perfectly fine and i respect it
but if a friend lives in a crappy country with Loose laws on Piracy I cant basically help to fix it
i was asking a civil question (DOES A TRAINER VAC BAN OR NOT) and it exploded into a mindless talk over Laws of piracy and "luxary"of gaming.
