Bosses a bit too hard? Not getting something?

So what's the deal with Borderlands 3? I'm fresh off of BL1 and 2 runs on higher difficulties and those games are mincemeat easy. Here I am in Borderlands 3, and an optional boss (Killavolt) alongside a mandatory one (Captain Traunt) so far have been absolutely stupid in terms of trying to beat them. Both bosses have something in common: 100% auto-tracking (READ: THEY FACE YOU AND YOU CAN'T GET OVER THEM BECAUSE THEY'RE MASSIVE BOSSES) in a game where positional damage is important. SHOOT ONE IN THE ♥♥♥♥, can't cause of shield. Take his shield down? He thows it back up instantly and repeat until ammo runs out. Fine it's optional, I can ignore him. Autism aside, whatever.

Traunt just has no-sell damage going on, and quite frankly his weak spot is just a bit too difficult to snipe on a regular basis. Compared to volt he's fair since his adds spawn, but they all do the BL2 thing of running into cover if you die. Can't seem to get on with the game, and if I start considering cheats now I may as well not bother playing it anymore since that's beyond the point of the game.

What the ♥♥♥♥ing hell am I doing wrong? My weapons are upgraded, I burned a few golden keys to make sure I had a mod, shields, and decent guns. I can't damage any bosses worth a damn while at the same time, rendering normal non-bosses paste. Is Moze a ♥♥♥♥ character or something?

Note: I ask the above with the difficulty on NORMAL. I've not decided to invalidate the game and/or unlearn good defensive cover habits by putting it on easy yet. Just wondering if I'm the worst player of this game. Wouldn't surprise me if it's true! Nothing that can be done since leveling (like in 2) is slow, and the powercreep on enemy bosses is faster...

Killavolt, traunt and katagawa ball are definitely among the harder bosses. Particularly as they come so early in the game before you've accrued a lot of skill points.

They are much easier in tvhm.

With killavolt I just kept moving around, he also can't use this shield if you shoot him from behind. Did the same with traunt just keep moving and always aim for the crits.

Quite literally couldn't get behind killavolt. Blew 2 hours of failures on him so I left. Not worth it

When you find a transformer shield, killavolt is one of the the easiest fights in the game.

killavolt is hella easy, had no problem with him on normal, or tvhm, or tvhm mayhem 3.


you need to work on your build bruh. and get a co-op buddy a long because positional bosses like that need a distractor, or use a pet class.

i play on normal difficutly (2 to pic) mode first time and every boss didnt even killed me i remeberd borderlands 2 bosses where harder to defeat

i wouldn't go that far, penn and teller were pretty rough imo.

also that rampager thing early on.

I just beat killavolt on the first try on normal with Fl4k. No idea what you mean. Like they are not "easy" but completely beatable without too much trouble. Edit : just beat traunt in 2 tries using 2 snipers one that was shock and one non element since he resists fire. Edit 2: Just beat katagawa and he was actually easy lol. I think you are just going in with bad kits or you are not mechanically good at the game aka dodging, shooting weak points, ability use, saving mobs for second winds, etc.

They are hard in normal mode, but wait until ya get max level gear and TVHM and Mayhem mode unlocked, they will slice through them like butter its a disappointment really

Killavolt can be tough but he frequently moves his shield aside so you can shoot him. So that is a silly complaint.

Truant was rough because my gear was so bad. Had to spend like 2 hours just farming the zone. It's horrible if you don't have the elements for the right thing. And even then I was trying to use my only acid weapon, a charge shotgun I had gotten moments before from the reward systems on kawaga's armor and it was just awful. Having actually good guns is a huge deal of it.

If you're having a hard time get a good weapon for each of the elements needed for the boss fight then level up to the bosses level.

Truant was by far the easiest boss so far. I am playing co-op and he melted within a minute or 2, barely got to see him do anything. Killavost wasn't much harder.

I started a solo playthrough as well, maybe they will be harder there.
