How do I modify personal quarters?

I assume my quarters are the ones in Sanctuary with the bank? Is there a way to alter the motif or am I stuck?

Should be able to go up to the hangers on the wall and interact with them. Decorations are purchased from Earl I believe, that's about all the customizations you can do.

Is Eridium a special currency like in Pay to win games, that I have to buy with real money? I found a bunch on Pandora but there is none on the second world.

There is no purchasable currency. Eridium is everywhere.

But to mine eriduim you will need a certain lvl/mission to get a tool to farm it. stay patient...
Boss fight give eridium and of course all game internal achievements (not the steam achievements). Farmed eridium will be allways at the same spot and will regenerate after leaving and entering the game.

Take a view with default M (map), at least two time X to scroll out and click "challenge" somewhere in the upper menu.
There are a lot of challenges for fights, vendors, opponents and stuff. And a lot of eridium..

Is there a good resource for consistently updated builds? I chose Siren because the Siren character is usually the most fun in each iteration, except for Prequel, I chose Athena. Can someone help me with a good leveling build for Amara? Thanks.

Eridium is a currency that is story based that you'll find a lot of later in the game you can't buy it with real money. Also late game drops more cosmetics for your room/guns from bosses.
