And i'm sure it's the same for Super Ultra-Wide, but that seems so poorly supported that i've not gotten into it yet.
Game works great on ultra-wide, apart from event and map menus. Though the menus in general suck giant skag balls, so it can't be helped, i suppose.
Or is it just a matter of my penis is longer than yours ?
Already some devs are saying 4K gaming is useless.
https://www.tweaktown.com/news/68608/gaming-dev-4k-useless/index.html
And frankly, he has a point ... 1080p is largely enough, even on a 1.5m screen like mine.
I've managed to play at 4K and I didn't notice any difference ...
To be honest there is a reason why 32:9 resolution does not see more use, I think there are more pressing matters to fix in this game than a resolution a tiny amount of the players uses.
Also I don't see 32:9 being an evolution it is just another option, CRT to LCD/LED was an evolution as 640*480 or even 1024*768 to 1920*1080 and beyond.
But for anyone having a high end RTX card and playing on a 1080 monitor ... please just sell (me, for cheap) your card and buy a 1080p card, your card is CPU bound in 1080p and you should really consider at least 1440p, this is really a waste of money on 1080p.
You're telling us with superultrawides to use 16:9 because it's the standard for games, but you "always buy the latest titan for gaming"? They aren't gaming oriented cards. That's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ piss poor decision. One look at your profile screams arrogant know it all who likes to yap to other people about how much money they can spend on their computer.
If you can't see why people use such displays, ♥♥♥♥ right off.
I use my 32:9 to write software. I aint' gonna haul it away just to play borderlands 3. It runs at 144hz with Gsync and HDR, so why wouldn't I? You going to come tell me that only 16:9 displays are made for gaming because I'm fairly certain they wouldn't implement tech like high refresh rate and adaptive rate sync in such panels if people weren't gonna use em for gaming. Evolve yourself.
Also, all of the luddites in this thread are infuriating.
"*Some* menus in this game are broken on ultrawide monitors, please fix"
"No, you're stupid for buying an ultrawide. Everyone should just be happy with whatever is most commonly used forever"
*I* prefer gaming on my ultrawide at 3840x1200, and it's also better for productivity. I don't need someone else to tell me that my preference is *wrong* and that I'd be just as happy at 1920x1080. Just ignore the damn thread if it isn't pertinent to you.
Not all games will run well with huge visual field or a UI that is unreadable unless modified.
This tells the game to base the aspect ratio on the Y axis instead of X. Pulled this from the suggestion for Tribes of Midgard here: https://www.reddit.com/r/widescreengamingforum/comments/osskyd/tribes_of_midgard_2021_pc_ultra_widescreen/
This did it for me!!! THANK YOU!!!!
THIS WORKS!!! ThankYou!ThankYou!ThankYou!!!! I haven't been able to play since the June update, so I can't even begin to tell you how grateful I am for this fix
I have Windows10 on its own SSD drive, with all my Steam content on a separate HDD. I found the engine.ini file in this location:
C:\Users\[users]\OneDrive\Documents\my games\Borderlands 3\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
Just a heads up for other users in case you don't see the file where you expect it.
And this fix needs to be pinned at the top of the page!
Thank you for this!
Does anyone know if this fix still works? I'm either doing it wrong, or this is outdated. I'm using a 32:9 Monitor.
