What was the point of the pre-installation if it still has stuff to install on launch day?

Like many others, I am unable to play the game I "pre-installed". Waiting for the slowest download ever to finish up... But, what is it downloading?

And Pre-located another 8 GB and nothing is Downloading ? waiting over 20 min WTF ?

I know, right? I have been waiting for about an hour for it to finish up. Ended up clicking the launch button before it finished to get the popup progress bar. Just tells me it is updating BL3 and is about 80% done. It is making progress, just moving incredibly slow.

an update came out today 800 mb to allow crossplay and stuff.

mine was pretty much ready to go in an instant. except for when it switched to DX12 and I had to wait for shader optimization.

looks like before Downloading 8 GB DLC 3 - Game Pre-Load is unpacking - you can see HDD/SDD usage tho there is no progress bar for it ...

There is no such thing as pre-installation. You pre-downloaded a compressed file, which needs to be unpacked. This is why you see no download activity.

Then you need to download today's update.

I just got mine to launch finally... After waiting for almost an hour an a half.

I went to the store page, and hit the launch button. That seemed to kick it out of the hung download. After hitting that button, it took about 30 minutes to finish installing, then it launched.
