All main characters in borderlands 3 are women

Lillith, Maya, Ava and Tannis. So where is the gender equality for men? I mean if you play as zane you not part of the main group because your character has no development or screentime in cutscenes. I hope borderlands 4 has both men and women in it as important characters.

You seem to forget she was the leader of a bandit cult in 2, while it was more of a undercover lead. I’m sure they sacrificed or killed plenty in her name, same with Brick. Nearly every character that isn’t psychotic is chaotic neutral at best lawful evil at worst.

I mean the series has its humanity with Rolands death, and tk baha in claptastic voyage. But 3 attempts this with a sidequest of a birthday party of someone who died with Mort. But the devs are so tone dev they give players the option to break her records and get a legendary gun at the end of it, yet barreted by Mort and the Father or don't break it for I guess some other reward I guess.

Jack and the vault hunters is the Borderline morally speaking. Vault hunters technically don't kill indiscriminatly while Jack just wants to kill everyone he labels as a bandit and control everyone. 2, presequel heck even bl1 in some cases show some decent writing of characters while 3 it's just for jokes or the sake of the plot.

but regarding good or bad writing when it comes to characters, i'm actually not that annoyed when there are inconsistencies in their personalities between games, i'm annoyed when something about the world they've built doesn't make sense, but i don't mind changes in character, even vastly different changes, because i'm a bit like that myself, and can often be completely different people at different times, so i just brush that kind of writing inconsistency off as the character showing a different side of themselves, or having gone through a change of some sort that's unknown to us

as for morality, yeah, it seems to me that the only one who was truly good was perhaps angel?

Unless written to show this as a trait its just poor writing. Its not just personality its stuff like lilith or Maya struggling against enemies or somehow failing to realize that COV are taking over pandora. Most vault hunters being absent for very dumb reasons despite pre-sequel. Also things changing in the world out of know where falls into inconsistency. Angel wasn't really good despite taking orders from Jack she still lead tons of people and vault hunters to their doom.

regarding angel, you're right, there was death on her hands as well, just not committed directly, but that doesn't relieve her of responsibility, true

as for several characters being completely absent, that would be fine if they showed up later in dlc, but BL3 should be done with by now, so it's odd that they completely omitted so many of them

as for flak being male. .
flak is a robot. at least i think flak is a robot. . flak grunts when flak jumps and lands. flak coughs when flak is radiated. maybe flak is just programmed to act human and react that way to things?

i can't tell if flak has any biological parts

when moze lands on promethea from the drop pod, she says she needs to vomit and then flak lands there, flak says "i have no mouth and i must vomit" (a harlan ellison reference). why does flak get nauseous?
the game says flak is non-binary, but it does feel like flak is more masculine than feminine.
flak has 3 body types, a skinny naked robot body and then 2 other bodies with a large broad jacket on it.
the skinny body feels naked, i don't like it. .
flak has no genitals, so flak obviousy has no gender other than what flak self identifies as.
i don't know if flak is asexual. flak comments on Ellie's body type, as does everyone. it's a running gag that everyone is attracted to ellie. .

flak also comments on "the overhwleming pheremones" coming off of moxxi, which could mean that flak is just . . noticing it, but unaffected or it could mean that flak is aroused by it.

flak's customization options mostly look androgynous, but kind of masculine leaning.
there are no "fembot" types of parts for flak.

as you can see, i have a tough time with the they/them pronouns myself. my mind keeps wanting to use he/him for flak and i'm trying not to. flak's voice is robotic, but also humanlike.



i just started a game as Zane and at first i avoided zane because he looked like an old fart, but he has custom options as well. I gave him the captain flynt body. . .i didn't realize he was related to captain flynt (that was the "this isn't over. . . .grinder!" guy).
i also gave zane the head with the handlebars mustache and with his voice , sounds british ir scottish, he kinda looks like Billy Butcher from The Boys.
I like him.

However bad writing one view it (which I agree on some), does not change the fact that Lilith doesn't go around killing children. The writing of BL3 didn't get that bad.
