BL3 storage space confusion
can somebody explain to me why the install for BL3 (with every single DLC clicked off, so absolutely nothing but the base game) is 94.38 GB?

i mean, if that's what it is, then fair enough, but on the store page, it has 75 GB

i don't understand the discrepancy

is it because it was 75 GB at the time of release? but 94.38 GB now after all the updates since then?

EDIT: if that's the case, then it's misleading for potential buyers, they should have the updated info on the store page, otherwise people might buy a game and not have enough space to even install it

DLCs + Updates = lot of disk space needed.
Game info page may not be updated every time a new DLC or update is released.
Rule of thumb : Always keep 50+ GB free over and on top of any installed games as updates tend to be huge these days.
e.g., Witcher3 latest update is 52GB, lol.

Borderlands DLCs tend to be awesome and worth the additional disk space they need, as they contain new storylines, new worlds, new characters, weapons, etc.
e.g., Tiny Tina's Assault on DragonKeep was a DLC for BL2, but it was so freakin' good fun, that its popularity has caused the game devs to spawn a whole new game on such Tiny Tina's magical make-things-go-kaboom gimmicks.

damn, ok, so it's the updates, and that info isn't on the store page

alright, i can deal with that, as i can just ask for that info on the forums i suppose

ok, thanks everyone

yeah, i just noticed that it's the same case for counter strike

the required space on the store page doesn't take into account all of the updates since release

it's probably like that for all games on steam

hmmm

I never bother with required space mentioned in game info page, as that info is typically outdated. Only way to know for sure, is to try to install the game and see how much space it really needs currently (future updates may seek more space, so ensure you don't fill up the hard disk, otherwise game may not work after future update if the update becomes mandatory for game to be launched again).
