nono sorry, i didn't actually mean that literally, thanks for your concern, but i'm ok, i used that definition to show that the need to be "cool" might just be a superficial attempt to hide insecurity and lack of true confidence, that part might apply to me, but not the kill myself part
as for mobile computer tables, maybe someday, i'll keep that suggestion on the shelf for now
if i break my current laptop, i'll definitely revisit that suggestion
https://www.hammacher.com/product/swivel-desktop-organized-side-table?cm_cat=ProductSEM&cm_pla=AdWordsPLA&source=PRODSEM&gad=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwsIejBhDOARIsANYqkD3pWC_h0ibFuAtRSJ1RJyqLt5bRKRbJC7JApJwDr9hRjZtzS1QK9ocaAqigEALw_wcB
thanks, i'll keep that or similar models in mind if i change my mind on the subject, i appreciate your help, thanks again
i appreciate that, thank you, and the same to you (i was tempted to put an emoticon here but then it would all start up again so i restrained myself)
if my laptop falls even once more, i'll definitely be looking into tables seriously, the main reason my laptop kept falling though was because i kept falling asleep in the armchair, so i'm going to try my best not to sleep in the armchair anymore
it might seem ridiculous for a laptop to fall at all, and under usual circumstances that's true, but when you're asleep, your body moves by itself, and can knock things over that are nearby, my dad also falls asleep in his armchair, and i've seen him knock drinks over or drop his mobile phone on the floor while he's asleep, i think i got the falling asleep and dropping stuff gene from him
obviously i'm not going to duct tape the laptop onto my pajamas, i also don't wear pajamas, why does anyone wear pajamas?!
listen to my suggestion for the world: just have a set of comfortable clothes for bed, like regular clothes, adults wearing pajamas look ridiculous, it's one of those things that's cultural but so stupid, this isn't bananas in pajamas, this is real life, am i the only sane one?
what if a robber came into your house at night, you want to fight the robber in pajamas? and if i followed your suggestion, i'd be fighting a robber in pajamas while a laptop is duct taped onto me, no thanks!
say no to pajamas! is it just me who feels this way? why am i always alone
i don't really understand when games say on the store page the minimum recommended ram, and they say 6 or 8 or 12 or 16. is thst the total ram of your system or is it the amount of "free" ram on your system, because the OS uses RAM.
i never tried to run anything higher than an 8 minimum on my system.
The Outer Worlds made my system run hot, but i made it through okay.
for the longest time, i thought anything above 60° was too hot, but then i read elsewhere multiple sources said anything below 80° is still within safe temp.
mine is usually hovering around the 68° mark while gaming.
i also have a cooling try for my laptop, but i dunno if those even do anything. better safe than sorry though.(?)
i did see the claptrap animation when i first loaded the game up and it took about a minute and a half to finish.
i limited the fps to 60. dunno why they have it "unlimited" by default.
there's a thing in the options called "benchmark" you can run that and it runs you through a simulation of the game world to see how well the game performs at those settings.
i know this prolly doesn't help OP. my last laptop was also an ASUS. that one lasted me about 6 years before i had to replace it. the USB ports burned out, except the one my cooling tray was plugged into , that kept going. and my keyboard started to bug out, it was acting as if certain keys were being pressed and held down by me, so i would try to type and it would suddenly just go "aaaaaaaaaaa" and then i used a third party iffy software from the net to disable the key and then a different key started doing it and i disabled that one and then a different key started doing it. eventually i disabled half the keyboard and was using a virtual keyboard software and then i went frig it i'm getting a new one.
laptops are hella expensive. . i hope i don't ruin this one playing this game. i hope to play elden ring one day(if they would ever drop it to a reasonable price. . .), but that says minimum 12 RAM.
there's a website can you run it(or sys requirements lab, i'm not sure). i forget the actual link, but just google "can i run it" and the website "sys requirements lab" will scan your computer and tell you if it meets the minimum specs
Am I not allowed to copy-paste my own comment as a possible (working for me) solution to common problem being faced by new BL3 players, when daily they create new threads in this discussion forum asking about this issue, which has not been fixed by game devs since game launch? Ever since I did the Launch Parameters tweak I explained in my "copy-paste comment", I have faced zero graphical issues while playing BL3 on high settings on my 8-year old laptop. All I've done here is to find similar issue being reported recently in this forum, and share those solutions to those new players (veterans of this game already know about this Launch Parameter tweak).
Oh. did I see any solutions come from you? Oh I didn't, because you didn't?! Guess my "spam" (as you called it) was more worthy than your useless posts (I did take a look at your post history, by the way). Hmmm..
There's gaming level of hot, and then there's dangerous-enough-to-fry-the-GPU-or-PC level of hot. What are the temperatures you see when idling in the game and during intense battle scenes?
This game works well (on gaming level of hot - no better or worse than most other big games I play) on my 8-year old laptop (which has obsolete 840M integrated GPU), so there's some problem or blockage in your PC. Please investigate further.
