level reset bug

Hi if anyone could help with a fix. i was playing borderlands 3 with my nephew the other day we got to chapter 6 and his pc crashed. now his character has reset to level 1. from 13-14 any help please? hes refusing to play cos of it.

i cant help you buuuut - in general with ALL borderlands-games you should regularly make backups of your savefiles.

Not much help but with how fast you level in 3 compared to past games, you’d only need a solid 2-3 hours to get to level 13.

There is a menu opening option to start a new character at level 13 if you have DLC.
It basically bypasses the tuturial part of the main story and you start on Sanctuary 3 with some basic gear then you can progress the base game and return to the DLC later when Mayhem becomes available and the DLC and previously visited areas start to scale to your level when mayhem is turned on.

Also on pc immediately after a crash there should be an oddly named save file in your save game directory which can be renamed and used to continue on.
But you need to manage that file before restarting the game if it's there.

issue is i only get a few days to really grind the game out with working part time and doing a higher degree course at the college and we were getting into it when this happened.

thanks for the tip we were essemtially on the mission where you first go to ptomethia so would this help get him back to level 13?

Yes if they start a new game choosing a level 13 start that's about where you commence IIRC.
Perhaps Google BL3 DLC level 13 start.
