Ive lost two characters due to getting corrupted when my pc crashed. Why is this happening in a game that has cloud saves, ive lost everything twice now and its really hard to put time into a game knowing it could all be lost at any time

look for possible backujp files especially check onedrive to see if there are any backup files there don't trust steam to back up your files do it youself

Have you joined a game with anyone recently? Did you by any chance picked up a hacked item from them? 855 hrs and never experienced a save problem.

I’m sorry this has happened to you. Frankly I don’t know what the cause could be. Although this can’t get back the progress you’ve made, I would simply suggest manually backing up the saves yourself wherever you’d find them. This applies for any game you play, considering you have a PC issue with the crashing.

I just bought the game recently and have 107 hrs no crashing so "I would look into your PC crashing issue" Put gaming on the back burner till ya get er fixed

Borderlands-games - always make backups of your saves. Has sadly always been a problem and BL3, while having significantly improed since release, is by far the worst.

Also you should look into why your PC crashes. Not that uncommon for the game to crash, btu your PC? That should NOT happen.

... not really helpful. The game uses cloudsave and should protect the savefiles agains such corruption to begin with.

I too got !Corrupted, but that was because the game crashed, i dont have an TMP file, and no previous version of the file, nor is it synced to Onedrive.

i guess thats 100 hours lost...ffs
But lessons learned, installing onedrive app and have it on autosync, the version i had didnt autosync weirdly.

Good thing i love the game.
