Which character should I play?

I know this is a old topic, but I'm running through this doubt the last couple days. I have a doubt about what character I should go with, and I always think about Amara or Fl4k, and I just can't decide, I already read a lot of posts and saw some videos about it, but I can't decide. In one hand I have Fl4k which has a pet, and that makes me feel less lonely in the Borderlands world, and in the other hand Amara, which is a powerfull Siren, and I love Sirens and their powers, I think Amara is more powerfull/do more damage, but I really like to have a pet, and I also think I had more fun with Fl4k, but I still have this doubt. Can you guys give me your opinion in which one should I choose?

Amara is pretty weak early game, but gets better. She specialises in elemental damage and crowd control.

Moze uses a mech, which honestly, is more boring than it would seem.

Fl4k has pets that can take the heat off you. Probably the easiest for solo play.

Zane is weird. I've never gotten comfortable with him, but his voice acting is the best.

Moze has the best overall skills making any weapon do splash damage, the mech is for emergency use if anything.

If you are playing on mayhem, which level are you on?

I'm using Amara on mayhem 6 and still find the game is easy. However with some bosses, I still need to downgrade to mayhem level 5.

Yeah I like Amara. But sometimes I'm feeling lazy to switch between incindenary and corrosion even though I can do it quickly from the menu.

Currently I'm trying low level Zane using shield and drone. Haven't tried his clone build.

I really wish they could have added an ability wheel to quick swap action skills. Instead, we have to go into the menu every single time.

Fl4k is awesome especially with fade away/ hellwaker. Zane can go full doom slayer. Amara can go either full gun shred with radical, coil and moze does moze things. Play them all to endgame ant then new ideas and builds upen up.

In general. Having to pause just to switch action skills is such an archaic design choice compared to things like ability wheels in Horizon or Plague Tale.

Most deadly thing in the game is falling off the cliff
So zane has an insane mobility and survivabilty thanks to his clone. Because you can acualy swap places with your clone and spam this. Also clone can easly solo some bosses in the game Its that overpowered . His drone also very usefull. It can do fine at mayhem 10-11

Moze is slow. But so powerfull. Unlimited ammo and Luck 7 build makes Mayhem 10-11 + Cartel event + Raids basicly hardest thing in the game a walking in the park. Its easiest and most strong build in the game.

Amara has some good skills to one shot most bosses and has a great elemental builds but usualy overshadowed by moze and zane.

At the end game even with the best builds Fl4ak will have very serious problems you will see even mayhem 3-4 is to hard because you cant get creative with Fl4ak you just have to make those builds and wait for your skills or pets to recover/recharge. Its just to much of a hastle and it isn't gona worth it.

But in my opinion every single Vault Hunters is powerful in their own way and even with the 4 action skills just one can be played very different ways. When I used to play a ton i ended up with 3 Amara builds, 3 Fl4ks, 2 Zanes and 3 Moze's all 11 were very different. And my still build a gorillas in the mist Fadeaway Call weapons only Fl4k when I get the urge to play again.

And sometimes the Story over and over again can get annoying to really start building but it goes fast and the build process and the endgame is worth i think.

To answer the OP's question between Fl4k or Amara. Both! Im an Amara main but FL4k is incredible and I started with Zane.

You should check out the NadeRakk Fl4k or Rakkstab builds. they are busted.
