but then again, you probably shouldn't be farming for gear in earnest until level 72 mayhem 11 and tou heedmto beat the main story for that
also, some side missions and other features don't become available until main story is completed.
certain side paths on maps don't open up until completing certain main story missions.
my opinions
the best thing to do is focus on main story, ignoring all side content until main story is complete.
which is anathema to how i normally play games, whenever i fire up an elder scrolls or fallout, i immediately go off to the side and get distracted for the next 200 hours and see i barely touched the main story.
this game actively discouraged that playstyle
